One group wiped the picnic tables and benches before they painted them with bright colours. After that, the teachers and pupils put the rubbish and debris into big bags. Then, they threw all the bags of rubbish into large rubbish bins.


Lina and her mother were preparing lunch in the kitchen. There was a large pot of soup on the stove.Suddenly, the soup began to boil over and started spilling onto the stove and floor. Lina screamed which caused her mother to turn around. Then, Lina’s mother rushed to the stove and turned off the gas knob. The soup continued to simmer. A lot of soup spilled on to the stove and floor. Lina and her mother waited for the stove and spilled soup to cool down before they began to clean the kitchen area.




Suhan and his family visited an elephant sanctuary during their holiday in Bangkok last month. They watched the mahouts bathe the elephants in the river. Suhan also helped the mahouts scrub the elephants’ body using coconut husks.

On another day, a bus took Suhan and his family to a coconut farm. A guide gave them a tour of a sugar factory. Suhan enjoyed the sweet smell of the freshly-made sugar.

They went on a river cruise. They enjoyed the bright city lights from the yacht. Suhan took a lot of pictures of the buildings along the river. Later, they ate dinner and enjoyed a musical show.


Dr Rajan, the botanist, studies carnivorous plants. He is looking for a Venus fly trap in the jungle. After walking for an hour, he finds one. He sets up

his camera to record how the plant catches insects. Dr Rajan returns the following day to retrieve his camera. Then, he returns to the research centre. Dr Rajan watches the recording. After several minutes, he sees a beetle flying above the thick leaves. The beetle touches the tiny hairs on the leaves. Suddenly, the leaves snap shut and the beetle disappears.


A fox was walking leisurely through the jungle. Suddenly, something caught its tail and he cried out in pain. The fox turned around and saw its tail caught in a metal trap. He squirmed and twisted his body until he got free. Unfortunately, he lost his tail. The fox walked home sadly. He saw other foxes looking at him with concern. Then, they asked him about his tail. The fox was embarrassed to tell them the truth. Instead, he told them that he cut it off. He encouraged the others to cut their tails too. Then, one fox pointed out the only reason he was encouraging everyone to cut their tails is because he had lost his own.
