A Robust Application to Replace Manual Tracking for Shuttl

Shuttl, an office bus transport service managed information pertaining to their operators manually.

This inhibited the firm’s ability to scale and their workflows were error-prone. HashedIn helped Shuttl

replace manual tracking with an easy to use android application. Information related to operators can

now be managed via Odoo (all-in-one management software that offers a range of business

applications).

Shuttl partners with numerous bus operators to provide affordable AC bus rides to office-goers. The

primary area of concern was managing numerous operators without compromising the quality of

service. Their current system involved manual tracking of information related to operators.

The client required a system that would allow them to seamlessly track and manage all operators.

This system should be scalable and allow Shuttl to add more routes while reducing operational errors.

Information pertaining to drivers and operators was integrated using Odoo. An android application was built for the operations team. This enabled them to:

1. Create new bus routes. 2. Map GPS coordinates of bus stops.3. Define average and peak times for the route.4. Capture photographs of locations and map them to landmarks to help consumers identify bus

stops with ease.

Solution Dynamics and InteractionsThis mobile application was developed in native android and aimed at automating the manual process of defining a route. It extensively used GPS and mobile tracking. When a new route had to be introduced, a field executive would travel the route. The app will help him track the time take on the route and the location of the desired stoppages. At each stoppage, the executive could aad images of the landmarks.

All of this data is then sent to the backend team to verify and approve. They have an interface that is built on top of Odoo, an all-in-one management software that offers a range of business applications. The coordinates of the bus that were stored in a database are displayed on a tracking map-based interface to the team and the images uploaded could be downloaded to be photoshopped.

User InterfaceWe worked on Django templates and AngularJS v1.0 based UI for admin and partner respectively. Designs were provided by the client and we had to implement and integrate the UI with Django based API platform.
