ToTo™ Patient Turning Equipment

Not all patients requiring pressure relief are able to spend significant time on alternating pressure mattressesand many experience restless nights struggling to cope with the continuous movement of such a system.Lack of sleep simply adds to the pain and suffering experienced by the patient, however, the ToTo turningunit now offers a viable alternative treatment.

The lifting element of the system is placed between the mattress platform and the existing mattress, gently moving patients at regular intervals without the need for intervention from carers, presenting a new approach to ‘two-hourly’ or ‘night-time’ turning.

The pump unit is ‘whisper quiet’ (<20db) and veryintuitive making it easy to use and minimising disruption

to the patient. It can be attached to either the foot end orside of the bed and can even be placed on the floorif necessary to allow the easiest possible access.

As the Toto system fits on any bed and can be used in conjunction with standard or alternating pressure care systems and bed stocks, pressure care management teams can easily move the unit from one site to anotherand are not bound by the availability or costs of a specialist bed.

Clinical advisors within the NHS report that not only are pressure care issues addressed by using the ToTo systems, but highlight many examples of improvement in other symptom areas1.
