1 Great is Your Faithfulness’. I alize this is a time so many peo- ple hold reunions, take vacations, and get away from the routines. This can cause them to miss critical, spiritual nurture. I hope that every ministry would be involved with revival and experience a new- ness and a joy unlike before. We have reached the time of our revival. This is a time when we do some reflection, and recommitment to our walk with God. A sermon recently preached used these words from Lamentations, great is thou faithfulness. In view of our sinfulness, and our diso- bedience, God still has been faithful to us. I don't know why He looks over our faults. I don't know why there is forgiveness for our transgressions, but God grants the privilege of favor. It is my wish that this year we will take the opportunity to help Pro- gressive Union to grow and be a better witness to a lost world. This month well have our semi-annual confer- ence. I am asking all to come and discover the status of our church at this time. So many feel that since the sanctuary is paid, we should have funds to do any- thing. Since the completion of the drive, we had so many repairs, and other demands that came to the surface. Our finance team works very hard to keep our church in a safe and protected mode. We are strong, and that is good. I appreciate faithful tithers who have been consistent in your giving. You have blessed this ministry, and I am certain you have been blessed. I have had a great year. I appreciate the encour- agement and the help so many have given. I know there have been concerns about my weight loss, but I promise it is intentional. I am cutting down on my intake, drinking juices and eating fruit. I am starting an exercise program. I've got to strengthen my body so I can better serve the congregation. I am far from where I used to be, but I believe that will help my walking. Thank you all for helping us in all that we do. I pray that for the remainder of the year that each member will do all you can to help us, as a five-star church, continue to be a church in the word, making a difference in the world. ‘Great is Your Faithfulness’.

I ‘alize this is a time so many peo-ple hold reunions, take vacations, and get away from the routines. This can cause them to miss critical, spiritual nurture. I hope that every ministry would be involved with revival and experience a new-ness and a joy unlike before.

We have reached the time of our revival. This is a time when we do some reflection, and recommitment to our walk with God. A sermon recently preached used these words from Lamentations, great is thou faithfulness. In view of our sinfulness, and our diso-bedience, God still has been faithful to us. I don't know why He looks over our faults. I don't know why there is forgiveness for our transgressions, but God grants the privilege of favor. It is my wish that this year we will take the opportunity to help Pro-gressive Union to grow and be a better witness to a lost world.

This month we’ll have our semi-annual confer-ence. I am asking all to come and discover the status of our church at this time. So many feel that since the sanctuary is paid, we should have funds to do any-thing.

I appreciate the encour-

Thank you all for helping us in all that we do. I pray that for the remainder of the year that each member will do all you can to help us, as a five-star church, continue to be a church in the word, making a difference in the world.

The Titus II Ministry was busy during the month

For our church’s 69th Church Anniversary the group presented gift baskets to our four surviving

Founding Members, Mothers Georgia Lanier, Lucy Leslie, Edrina Pope, and Louise Roberts. Mothers Lanier and Roberts were presented their baskets at their residence; Mother Leslie and Pope were pre-sented their baskets at the 11:00 a.m. worship service on the anniversary Sunday, June 5, 2016.

On the second Sunday the Titus II Ministry visited

the Whitesburg Nursing Home to worship with the residents for 30 minutes. The meditation for the June 12, 2016 visit was given by Evangelist Charlie Jen-kins.

Making a Difference in the World (Part 67)

How do we become a Church in the Word?

Christ said come to me, all of you who labor and

are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, and you will find rest. (Matthew 11:28-29).

After we learn of God, we are to put the word into action. Faith without weeks is dead. (James 2:14-18). With our words we are being a living example to oth-ers. (1 Timothy 3 and 4).

Turn to living Christ like. Do not love the world for Christ is eternal but the world will pass away. (John 2:15).

We are to fight our fight and run with endurance. (Hebrews 12:1-2). When we commit to working, hav-ing faith in God, and preserve, we will then start “Making a Difference in the World”.

Jordan Matthews’ first event as part of Matthews Mission was a 7 on 7 Flag Football Challenge that was held on Saturday 25 June 2016 at Madison Academy. In addition to the Co-ed Flag football tournament a combine for 6,7 and 8th graders were held.

Progressive Union provided outstanding support that resonated into a successful day. The stands were filled with Progressive Union members cheering for the In-Tune squad (Chris Burns, Mallory Burns, Tyler Burns, Travion Crutcher, Deontez Cunningham, Ak-eem Davis, Kendall Elliott, Shayla Gholston, David Hamilton, Adams Howard, Jaylen Luter, Jonathan Reese, Algernon Stanley, Jr., and Tyler Welch).

In-Tune came back from an early loss to make it to the final. With seconds left on the clock with a tie score of 13 to 13 David Hamilton found Jalen Luter on a pass and Luter made a spin move that freed him up to score the final TD of the game. No better ending could have happened for Jordan’s first event than for his youth group, In-Tune to walk away with the ‘W’.

All the proceeds went towards a great cause New Futures Family Lodge which is an organization that works to keep displaced families together by provid-
