Our History

The Company was originally founded in the UK in 1983 to provide high quality automatic gate installation and maintenance in the Home Counties. In 1995 Perimeter Security (EA) Limited was incorporated as part of the Electro Automation Group of Companies to increase its product portfolio.

To consolidate the multiple disciplines Perimeter Security (EA) Limited changed its name in August 2003, amalgamating two companies into EA Group (UK) Limited.

With the acquisition of Automatic Door Maintenance Limited (ADMI) in July 2007, EA Group (UK) Limited further increased its knowledge and portfolio into the automatic door industry and incorporating our extensive experience of access control are now a major player in the supply and installation of turnstiles.

Company Profile

With its Head Office and Showroom located in Bookham, Surrey, and regional workshops and stores in Leicestershire, EA Group (UK) Limited provide a comprehensive installation and support service within the automatic door, turnstile, access control, and security market sectors.

Contract administration, project management, technical support and 24 hour, 365-day service is coordinated from Bookham.

We have worked for many years with the police and government organisations and our engineering staff are both security screened and CRB checked.

The Shard

At 310m (1,016 ft) the newest addition to the London skyline is officially the tallest building in Western Europe.

Conceived by the Sellar group, The Shard has been built in the London Bridge Quarter of the capital and is considered a world class address to be occupied by a mixture of offices, hotel, residential apartments, shops and restaurants.

After a thorough selection process, EA Group (UK) Limited, part of the Dublin based Electro Automation group of companies won the contact to supply and install 5 of their automated doors to the entrances of The Shard, including the prestigious offices on level 2 and the 5-Star Shangri-La hotel entrance situated on the ground level.

Given the prestige of the project the architect’s choice for the hotel main entrance was the KA021 revolving door from EA Group.

At 3.6 meters in diameter and featuring both revolving and sliding door functionality, the KA021 door has been designed to accentuate the splendor of the entrance to the Shangri-La, one of the worlds most opulent and exclusive hotel brands.

Once again under the spotlight of a prestigious major construction project, EA Group proved that the knowledge and technical abilities of their team were able to deliver the door package on time and on budget.

The EA Group leadership team were able to demonstrate a willing flexibility to work alongside other contractors and suppliers to ensure that within some of the most demanding construction logistical environments the aspects of the project could be and were deliverable.

RGU Aberdeen

EA Group’s KM023 manual revolving doors with EA-SC01 manual speed controllers were chosen above the competition as the perfect solution for RGU Aberdeen.

In addition, another part of the exacting key criteria was the provision for a discreet but efficient air curtain to be incorporated into the internal head of the door with curved plenum and outlet vents.

The discreet air curtain was another element of the specification that EA Group won the project over the competition and the installation at RGU proved once again that EA were the market leaders in providing high quality revolving doors with key bespoke design features.

The specification for the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen called for two manual revolving doors to the entrance of their Faculty of Health building.

With experience of students and manual revolving doors, the university were specific in detailing that the new doors must have a proven and effective speed control device incorporated into the door mechanism to prevent students ‘spinning up’ the door mechanism.

With a broad multi-national intake of students from around the world, it was important that the door mechanism and speed controller would not malfunction or fail if the doors were rotated clockwise or anti-clockwise.

EA MAKE A UNIFIED ENTRANCE AT THE RGU

Exeter Forum

The Forum is the centre focus point of learning at Exeter University. The hub for study, shopping, and social interaction, the Forum building is without doubt the busiest on the entire campus.

EA Group supplied a hybrid door solution for the three revolving doors for this prestigious learning centre. Manual revolving doors made predominantly from glass to match the facade of the building, yet also incorporate metal framed door leafs that would withstand the pressures put upon them in a busy student thoroughfare.

The benefits of the clear glass canopy and outer door drum of our KM071 incorporated with the framed door leafs of our KM023 was the answer that gave Exeter Forum the sustainability of reflective light and durability of a bustling student life.

All Glass Revolving DoorWhether a hotel, commercial building or blue-chip headquarters. The EA all glass revolving door offers a visually minimalist solution that is in keeping with the most modern façade or can blend seamlessly into a heritage building without distraction.

This UK manufactured entrance has many benefits and features:- Bespoke dimensions every time in 1mm increments for the diameter and height Stainless steel, polyester powder coat, bronze or brass finishes. Installation can be directly to the finished floor or upon an EA base ring to receive floor finishes.Bespoke horizontal or vertical handles in many finishes.Shorter lead-times than most, as its is manufactured in the UK

For additional safety and comfort, our manual doors also have the possibility of underfloor speed controllers or speed control, power assist and parking functions. Again these are purpose made to each entrance and are designed and manufactured within the UK.

Association)

ADSA was formed in 1985 for the purpose of ensuring that its member companies offered superior levels of safety in the supply, installation and maintenance of automatic doors.

Construction Skills (CSCS)

All of EA-Group’s engineering staff are CSCS approved skilled contractors. CSCS is fast becoming the industry standard. It is supported by organisations such as the Major Contractors Group (MCG), National Contractors Federation (NCF), Major Home Builders Group (MHBG) and Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) all of whom are committed to a fully qualified workforce by the end of 2010. Our major clients recognise our commitment to quality by having a 100% CSCS carded workforce. These clients include government, housing associations, NHS projects and private clients such as BAA.

ISO9001

The standard is based around the principles of customer satisfaction, continual improvement and the development of a process based quality management system.

ISO14001

In July 2008 following an assessment by an independent body, EA Group (UK) Limited has been awarded ISO 14001 certification. This certification has only been achieved by less than 1% of UK businesses and this prestigious award is supported by the Government and recognised world-wide.

ISO27001

ISO27001 is the new name for BS 7799. It is an internationally-recognised cer-tificate for evaluating how an organisation securely manages its information and data. EA Group (UK) Ltd and EA Doors passed and were accredited with ISO 27001 by QMS after a multi-stage audit in March 2009 which rigorously evalu-ated all of our IT Systems, Data Handling and Security as part of a number of control objectives and accomplished control methods.
