Aim & Scope

Aim

To index at least 60 high quality Thai and ASEAN journals in Scopus database in 2017-2019.

Scope

1) Indexing 20 high quality Thai and ASEAN journals in Scopus database in 2017 and at least 40 journals in 2018-2019.

2) Proactive mentoring and training programs of selected journal editors.

3) Evaluations and decision makings of Thai journal titles in agreed period of time.

Actions to be Taken

1. Discussed a fast track program for indexing Thai journals in Scopus database.

2. Pre-selected high potential Thai journals based on the Scopus criteria.

3. Selected local committee for training and evaluating high potential Thai journals to be indexed in Scopus.

4. To organize a series of Editor’s workshops for high potential Editors and to initiate the Editor’s Certificates, as part of evaluation criteria.

5. To evaluate the shortlisted journals and later submit to STEP system for final decision making by the Scopus Subject Chairs.

Criteria for selecting the 3rd Round for Local Board (ECSAC) for Thailand

1. Nomination of high potential experts. This can be done by Editors, University Administrators, and TCI. Self-nomination is NOT allowed.

2. Minimum requirement for ECSAC committee:

• Experiences in Editorship

• Still active research in his/her disciplines, this being based on publication record in high quality journals

3. Nominated experts will be trained by TCI and Scopus Subject Chairs regarding the Scopus review criteria and other relevant matters before being selected and appointed as the ECSAC committee (2017-2019)

Editor’s workshop for high potential journal Editors

1. The editors of selected journals have to take part in a series of workshops and training to improve their journals to meet with Scopus criteria.

2. After training and workshops, the Editors will be awarded “Editor’s Certificates” given by the Thailand Research Fund, TCI and Scopus.

3. The Editors Certificates will be announced publicly in awarding ceremony.
