Friends of the Conservatory Friends include: Music enthusiasts Supporters of music and music education People interested in having a major influence on the

education of future music educators, performers, and composers?

A Long Tradition Music has always served to educate and inspire Winthrop students. From its humble beginning in 1886 as the normal school for South Carolina, Winthrop has recognized the importance of music in the education and day-to-day lives of its students. Even today, over 400 Winthrop students perform in our 25 ensembles.

Together with faculty and guest artists, they provide well over 100 performances annually in four perfor-mance venues on campus.

fabulous choral con- cert at the end of the semester?

Going on tour with the band? Those long hours in a practice room? Those wonderful voice lessons with your favorite

professor? Perfecting that senior recital with your accompanist?

Whatever your music experiences, this is your opportunity to be involved in the education of today’s music majors and lovers of music.
