A. Context

The Boston Tea Party was an act of defiance against the British. . . Why?

Glad you asked, That is because it was a destruction of Private Property which went against the Unalienable Rights.

B. Thesis

The Thesis is that the Boston Tea Party affects us today because we embody the same fight we had in 1773.

C. Time and Important People The Boston Tea Party took place on December 16, 1773

in the Boston Harbor.

The Boston Tea Party consisted of men who owned businesses that were being taxed by the British.

Many of these men disguised themselves as Indians so they would not be recognized and punished for their actions.

George Robert Twelves Hewes- a shoemaker

Hewes was the last known survivor of the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre.

Hewes told James Hawkes what he recalled about the events that took place on December 16, 1773.

C. Time and Important People “It was now evening, and I immediately dressed myself

in the costume of an Indian, equipped with a small

hatchet, which I and my associates denominated the

tomahawk, with which, and a club, after having painted

my face and hands with coal dust in the shop of a

blacksmith, I repaired to Griffins wharf, where the ships

lay that contained the tea. When I first appeared in the

street, after being thus disguised, I fell in with many who

were dressed, equipped and painted as I was, and who

fell in with me, and marched in order to the place of our

destination. . .

describes this to Hawke, which was restored by Alfred

Young.

the Boston Tea Party where the People are not happy with the Government.

Some Political Movements are not violent while some can be deadly. . .

The Baltimore Riots were caused by the death of Freddie Gray Jr., who died in police custody. His wounds consisted of; three fractured vertebrae, damage to his voice box, and his spine was 80% severed from his neck.

E. Continued Baltimore Riots consisted of the Most Violent political

protest in 2015. The Damage consisted of:

- 300+ businesses damaged

- 20+ drug stores looted

- 200+ people arrested

- 150+ Vehicle fires

F. Conclusion

The Boston Tea Party still has an affect on America today, although we do not see it we are embodying the idea of freedom.
