Loretta Switt and I did not get along We weren't speaking by theend of the shoot. Peter Fonda was cute and somewhat self-absored. Warren Gates was a lovable teddy bear. And, lastly, what do you think of the idea oftrying once again to revive DS with a new series?Answer: Everything we acted went on the air. My favorite scene was when I cursed Barnabas. I think it would be great to bring DarkShadows back again in a new series.

Question: Dear Lara: DS was filmed in the late sixties, a time of social change. Did the women's liberation movement or the civil rightsmovement have an impact on the show?Answer: We all went to a candlelite vigil against the Vietnam War in Central Park and I went to the March on Washington. We were aware ofthe world around us. As far as the Women's Liberation Movement, I believe the character of Angelique was so popular because she was oneof the first women on TV to have that kind of power over men and the other people in her life. The ability to make people suffer, etc.

Question: Did you have a reason for making Barnabas affiliated with a naval school in your novel and, if so, was it more of an academyversus the actual navy?Answer: I think I might have got the color wrong. The editor of my book told me that Barnabas and Angelique should meet in the first 50pages so I had to figure out a way to make that happen and I did.

Question: Do you remember your very first encounter with Mr. Frid and what was your first impression of him as a person?Answer: I auditioned with him and he was extremely kind and said he hoped I get the part.

Question: When you think back to the Dark Shadows studio days, what is the first and best memory you have?Answer: The worst part was starting at Sam.
