Bird Identification and places to visit between Apollo Bay and Cape York Richard Stone
This course is particularly directed towards the many members who leave Apollo Bay for the warmer weather during winter. Also helpful to consider looking for birds whenever you travel. Covers bird guides that identify the many fascinating birding spots easily accessible. Tips on interesting out of the way places that Richard has visited where Birdlife Australia either have a bird observatory or there is a recommended spot along the route to the north. Three sessions.
Wine-making Damien Byrne
There will be an introductory session at which you can decide if you want to join the group in making wine from scratch. The course includes collecting and crushing grapes, plunging of the skins, pressing, regular monitoring and tasting, decanting to barrel and finally bottling. Starts term 1 and runs over the year. Participants will share the cost for purchase of grapes and bottles and then share in the end product.
Introduction to Genealogy Jan Lewis
Introductory sessions are offered for beginners. An on-going support group will meet monthly if there is a demand. We have access to the library subscription to Ancestry to assist in your research.
U3A Theatre Les Cameron
“The Tribunal” This is a continuation of the successful reading and redraft of Les Cameron’s play. Les will work with 8 U3A members at weekly workshops and rehearsals, with a performance at Hello coffee in April. It is hoped that the production will stimulate new local productions across the year and lead to a rebirth of interest in theatre in Apollo Bay.

Held monthly. The group offer suggestions for films to watch or lend their favourite DVDs.
Music Appreciation group Elizabeth Marsen
Meets monthly to share the enjoyment of listening to music.
Talking Heads Di Shipham
Viewing of this BBC series. U3A members are invited along, pre-booking not necessary.
Book group Wendy Cookes
Held monthly. Book discussion, members take it in turn to choose a book.
Cards and Board Games Chris Crump
Held weekly, U3A members are invited to drop in and join the group. There are a variety of games to choose from with members playing the games of their choice. There is the opportunity to learn new games.
Documentary film group Ray and Ted Stuckey
Films are selected by the group. A discussion on the topic of the film follows viewing.
iPad, laptop, smart phone users group Marilyn Coyle
Get help with the latest technology, bring your own device or iPads on loan to try before you buy.
Current affairs discussion Various topics selected for round table discussion and ideas sharing.

A Message from your Marrar Woorn Coordinator,
Over the last 12 month we have been very lucky to have Maddie as part of the Marrar Woorn team. She joined us last March as a trainee for Otway Health. In this time she has answered our phones, helped with all our course enquiries and developed the most amazing systems and processes, all with a smile on her face. Her warm caring nature will be greatly missed.
However we wish her luck in the next step on her journey, which is returning to University to study a double degree in Commerce and Information Systems. Maddie leaves us on February 10th, so please join us in thanking Maddie for being a part of the team.

My name is Rebekah Malherbe and I work with clever, creative and talented people to take their business concept and transform it into a successful business. Cooking and Nutrition Program Come along to this new program and learn how to cook new, delicious recipes and develop a wide range of cooking skills. You will learn practical nutrition tips and receive a hamper of fruit and vegetables to take home each week.
