Dare to dream, together we can achieve and flourish... A warm welcome to this weeksnewsleer, even if the weather isnt quite so warm! All the outdoor acvies we had planned for the summer term are proving quite tricky to squeeze into the dry spells. The year 6 pracce walk for Junior Ten Tors in mount Edgcumbe went ahead, but was a washout, in torrenal down- pours. The children were troopers, with no complaints and indeed Kae saying I hope it rains even harder, its more fun!Fingers crossed for beer weather when the children have to camp out on Dartmoor next weekend! The Year 2’s managed to complete their stream scramble challenge on Dartmoor as part of their Geography studies. All pupils were brave and tough, with many enjoying the toilet flush when Mr Bell sat in a waterfall to build up the flow and then releasing the flushonto many willing vicms below! Many thanks to Mrs Bradley who took some of the Year 4 pupils to Cardiff this week. They had a great me despite the damp weather, vising the Science Exploratorium and finding some shelter from the rain in Pwll Mawr, or the big pit coal mining museum. Thank you to all the well behaved children from Millbrook School on this trip. The Year 3’s are up next for their Jurassic parkexpedion to the fossil country in Dorset. Our next whole school acvity is the MAT regaa on Seaton Beach on Thursday 20th June. A day of water and beach based fun acvies is planned, where all our children get to work and play with the other children in our partner schools in the MAT. If these acvies sound appealing, we are always looking for willing parent volunteers to help out. If you think out- door acvies sound like your kind of thing, we would be very happy to hear from you if you could give a day to ac- company the children. If you could, please see the admin staff in the office to organise a straighorward DBS check. Finally, I would like to welcome a new member to the Millbrook team. Clare Elworthy has joined us for a couple of days a week looking aſter our lovely children at lunchme. Im sure she will fit in just fine and help all of us have a happy me at lunch. A warm welcome to this weeks’ newsletter, even if the weather isn’t quite so warm! Last Tuesday the football team travelled to Fourlanesend school a part of the KO cup for football in South East Cornwall. McKenzie Triggs was team captain, organising the players to the best possible effect. Alfie Northcott said “They have one or two good players that I know about, but I think we will win 2 goals to 1. In the event, Millbrook won by 8 goals to 1, carrying on our unbeaten winning streak. alfie manage to score a hatrick, but the goal of the match was a lovely header from McKenzie in the second half. I was really impressed to see the more experienced players stand back a bit when victory was certain in the second half and allow newer recruits to come forward and hone their skills in attack, ready for the next generation! The team were: McKenzie, Alfie, Malakai, Joseph, Oliver, Harry, with Leo and Hayden sharing duties in goal. Well done to the whole team!
