Funbrain and Poptropica
Funbrain and Poptropica aim to empower kids’ literacy
by giving them an online virtual space where they can
read stories and play games based on their favourite
characters.
The manuscript for Jeff Kinney ‘s Diary of a Wimpy Kid
was launched on www.Funbrain.com Two years later he
became a published author and has now sold 150
million books.
Lincoln Peirce’s Big Nate was then launched as an
‘island’ on www.Poptropica.com making him a massive
star.
Kids from Australia visit Poptropica alone between
52,000 and 60,000 times per month, and each visit lasts
a whopping 43 minutes!
Now, from the company behind Funbrain and Poptropica, comes Max Brallier and his Galactic Hot Dogs series! So far the Galactic Hot Dogs website on Funbrain (launched 21 Oct 2014) has already received: • 3,697,819 unique visitors* • 5,849,991 visits • 8,214,219 page views And this is where they come from: 87.19% US, Canada (4.1%), Australia (*2.64%), UK (1.23%)
*That’s 97, 622 Australian kids who have already visited!
These two platforms are massively popular with kids 7 – 12 years, and have enormous reach to this audience. Galactic Hot Dogs will be launched on Funbrain and Poptropica
using the same strategy as Wimpy Kid and Big Nate.
A major ongoing marketing campaign has launched across both platforms to promote Galactic Hot Dogs and so far this advertising has delivered: • 7.7 million ads for Galactic Hot Dogs across

• 170,000 clicks on these ads

We’ll continue to work with Funbrain and Poptropica
to geo-target all advertising and promotions directly to
ANZ members visiting the sites.
To add to this huge campaign, we’ll also promote the
series directly to all primary schools through our
educational database and partner with Good Reading
and PK magazines to reach thousands of students 7 – 12
with activities, competitions and Skype events with
author Max Brallier.
Galactic Hot Dogs will also be part of our major May
school holidays promotion (with major brands Dork
Diaries and Five Kingdoms) targeting students looking
for a new adventure series to love!
