PREPARED TOPIC} Topic should focus on Unit One (Modules 1-3)

}Must be a topical, polemic issue

}Must focus on a Francophone country.}Candidates may compare/contrast the topic to

their own country.

} Presentation should be for 3 minutes

}Candidates are allowed to use cue cards, no morethan 5 headings.

} The presentation is not an expository piece. It shouldbe weigh the pros and cons of an issue andhighlight the student·s standpoint on the issue.

comes up, you can think of it this way -

CHOOSING A TOPIC

Two ways of choosing a topic:

i. Do a general topic ² e.g. talk abouteducation and narrow it down to the actualsituation in a Francophone country

ii. Choose something which, in itself, is French ² 

e.g. L·Immigration et Le Front National

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL ORALPRESENTATION

}Quality of Language:

i. You use very accurate language and a widerange of appropriate vocabulary and structures.

ii. You are spontaneous and independent in your response, even when the conversation movesaway from the areas you have prepared

iii. You have done wide ranging research, and cangive, not only the detail, but also your opinionsand ideas as to developments
