December 2014 Dear [First name], Gratitude. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an indispensable ingredient to a happy life. Back in the early years when Talis and I were starting up FeelGood— wearing so many hats we sometimes wondered if someone had cloned us without our awareness—what kept us going was gratitude: for our family, for the incredible students we worked with, and for the absolutely life-giving support of people like you. People who believe hunger and poverty can be ended in our lifetime and that youth have the power to change the world. One of our favorite ways to express our gratitude for this amazing FeelGood community was to bake treats and send them as gifts at the end of the year, along with a letter expressing our heartfelt appreciation for each individual’s commitment and partnership. It would take hours. Friends and family would join us. It was an absolute joy—and every cookie, rice crispy treat, chocolate covered pretzel and piece of fudge was an opportunity to reflect on the amazing people who give this movement life. This year, as you may have noticed, we’re reviving this FeelGood tradition. Enclosed please find a homemade brownie from all of us, imbued with love and gratitude for your past and continued partnership. As an organization powered almost completely by the support of individual contributions, you don’t just make the FeelGood movement possible. You are the FeelGood movement. So please enjoy this small gift as you review the additional information in this mailing. And for a more complete update on our progress and future plans, please be sure to visit www.feelgood.org/brownie. With blessings for a joyous holiday season, Kristin Walter Executive Director and Co-Founder FeelGood.org
