HARM REDUCTION

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is an opioid blocker that reverses the effects of opioids. It can reverse an overdose caused by an opioid for approximately 30-90 minutes, which means it is still important to call 9-1-1.Community members can obtain a free naloxone kit at Clermont Recovery Center (1088 Wasserman Way, Batavia, OH 45103). Call 513-735-8100 for an appointment. Naloxone is also available at most pharmacies without a prescription.

Thursdays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The mobile van is located in the Mercy Health Clermont Hospital parking lot. 3000 Hospital Drive, Batavia, OH 45103. Services include: One for one exchange of sterile syringes Testing for hepatitis C and HIV Naloxone kits Pregnancy test kits Education on preventing infection Referral to treatmentAll services listed are provided at no cost.

PREVENTION RESOURCES

Dispose of medications at any of the following drug drop box locations:

Medication Safety at Home

To get a locking medication storage container from Clermont County Public Health call 513-735-8400.

Educate your family and children on safe medication practices. Store medicine in a safe and secure location. Keep track of all medications including quantities and expiration dates. Dispose of unused and expired medication properly at one of the drop boxes listed above.

Recovery is an ongoing process. Support and self-education are important components of treating addiction and preventing relapse. There are several recovery support group meetings throughout Clermont County for individuals in recovery and their loved ones.
