Bearing an original label dated 1696, the two-piece back of medium to broad flame, the ribs and scroll of similar curl, the table of medium to fine-grained spruce, the varnish of a golden-brown colour.
Length of back: 353mm
Sold with the certificate of Rembert Wurlitzer, New York 1951.
Giovanni Grancino (1637–1709)
Giovanni Grancino was probably the most important maker in Milan during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, where he worked on the Contrada Larga. His easily recognisable work is always flowing and beautiful.
