'l'he form giYcn below contains the course of studies to be pursued, ·which may he varied by substituting one or more elec­tive subjects cho en from the Regent's course. 'l'wo grades often take one or more studies together, thus ecuring fewer but larger cla se • and increasing the interest in the study.

'!'he studies in the grades above the ninth arc changed somewhat from year to year, heing adapted to the studies offered at the different examinations of the Regent , and arranged to meet the needs of the pupil . ome studies, howe\·er, are best taken during the work of particular grade , as rhetoric and algebra in the tenth, geometry and Latin in the eleventh, and Cre ar in the twelfth.

'l'he library consists of about I ,200 volumes, comprising standard works of biography, travel, history, literature, science, and fiction. ]Jictionaries, the American CyclopF•dia, with the Annuals, gazctecrs and other reference works are always acce sible. Apparatus is on hand for illustrating phy ics, chemistry, physiology and astronomy. Ap­paratus and books arc being added each year.

'J'he buildings are warmed by combined steam and furnace heat, and furnished with modern appliances.

Pupils are required to be m attendance from 9 to 11:45 o'clock A. M.,

and from 1:15 to 3:30 o'clock 1'. M. It is expected that pupils of the higher grades will devote additional time to study. Pupils of the first grade may be dismissed at 11 o'clock and 3 o'clock.
