Getting your care and support and paying for it

Remember! You must spend your payments only on care and support that will meet your needs and help you to do the things you want.

1 Have they explained to me the money that I will pay if I decide to ask them for care and support?

2 Has a contract been made to make sure my needs will be met?

3 If I employ my own member of staff or a Personal Assistant, have I thought about what this might mean?

Understanding accreditations on Connect to Support.

Some organisations on Connect to Support are accredited by Doncaster Council. The different levels of accreditation and what they mean are explained below:

What do the logos mean?

Monitored

When you see this logo next to an organisation it means that they have a contract or grant funding relationship with Doncaster Council to provide their services.

They will have met all the required criteria, including professional insurance and indemnity requirements, business references and safeguarding procedures and will have agreed full terms of business with the council.

The standard of services from the organisation will be regularly quality monitored by Doncaster Council’s Adults Contracts Team.

Minimum

When you see this logo next to an organisation it means that they have met the minimum accreditation criteria set by Doncaster Council.

This means that they have provided evidence of insurance and professional indemnity, evidence of business references; and they have signed up to the South Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults policies and procedures.

They are not contracted with Doncaster Council though, which means that Doncaster Council will not carry out any performance or quality monitoring on them.

Pending

When you see this logo next to an organisation it means that they have recently applied to join Doncaster’s Connect to Support website.

They will be in the process of being accredited by Doncaster Council.

In the meantime, you should be aware that Doncaster Council in no way endorses or approves this organisation.
