General Information

Easy to use: "Visitor Mode" or "Salesperson Mode"

Once set up, this extension adds a simple button to the Magento Wishlist called "Create Publication". When your visitor or salesperson clicks this button, they are prompted for a job name. After a few minutes they receive an email with a link to a professional-quality, custom flyer in PDF format. This flyer will present the products contained in their wishlist. You can configure Catalog-on-Demand for two modes.

Visitor Mode is ultra-simple. The user just adds products to their wishlist, then clicks on the "Create Publication" button. Nothing else is required. They receive a link to the PDF in their email.In Salesperson Mode, the salesperson may enter a personalized headline and message. If you want, you can also give them a choice of color schemes, banners, and other options. Furthermore, you can create in advance any number of "job parameter sets (JPS)" that pre-define headers, colors and other job options. That helps the salesperson, because then all they have to do is select from one of the available JPS's when running their publication.

In order for the extension to "know" which mode to use, the site admin creates a list of logins that authorizes particular users as salespeople. These users can be internal or external to your business. They will also be prompted to login to Catalog-on-Demand. Their login is free.

Drive Traffic to Your Magento Site With PDF-e-Links™Every product in the custom flyer contains a PDF-e-Link back to the corresponding product on your Magento e-commerce site. If the user is browsing the PDF online, it is just one click to get to a place where they can place the order. Automated Layout Features

Intelligent Graphic ResizingProduct graphics are automatically resized to a height or width of your specification, while maintaining the proper aspect ratio. The product description and other text is automatically rearranged to utilize the space made available after the graphic is resized.

Graphic Alignment All graphics are right-aligned. The wider the graphic, the more it will extend to the left.

Very Wide Graphics If the graphic is so wide that it would extend all the way to the left edge, then it is positioned above the description. Otherwise, the graphic is to the right of the description.

Graphic Height You can configure the maximum height of the product graphics. Tall graphics will be scaled down to this height. The width will be scaled proportionately.

Small Graphics Because of the need to maintain graphic quality, graphics will never be expanded.

Well-Balanced White SpaceOur advanced "best fit" algorithms ensure that white space is used efficiently throughout the publication. The system looks ahead at each unpublished product to determine which one will be the best fit for the space remaining on the page. Like a good graphic designer, it will even use a different product presentation to accommodate odd-shaped spaces.At the same time, every good designer knows that appropriate use of white space can be restful. It gives the reader a more pleasing experience. Catalog-on-Demand automatically adjusts the page elements so as to use the space to best advantage, and avoid over-crowding.

Color SchemesDifferentiate the look of your publications with a unique color scheme that matches your business colors. You can even create multiple color schemes to suit the season, an event, or a particular customer preference.

Automated Tables for VariantsAre you using Magento's "configurable products" feature? If so, you will be glad for the automated table capabilities of Catalog-on-Demand. This is a highly effective way to show your customers all the variants of each product. Best of all, you don't have to learn anything - it is all done for you!The system automatically determines the best way to present the combination of variants and attributes. Attributes are typically presented as columns. Variants are listed as rows. Column widths are computed automatically, based on text length, longest word length, space available, and other factors.Later in this publication you will see many different sample products. Nearly all have variants (we call them "items"). You will probably recognize some as similar to your products. If not, don't worry! Just install the extension, run some publications and let us know if you are not satisfied with the results. We will work with you to make sure your needs are accommodated.

Keep Together

In order to maximize readability, the entire product presentation is kept together wherever possible. When the presentation is too large to fit in a single column, it will intelligently break so as to cause the least interruption to the flow of the publication. Continuation headers will appear automatically.

Filler AdsYou can upload your own ads - or ads that you sell - and have them automatically appear as "fillers" wherever there is white space in your publication. Ads can have embedded PDF-e-Links™ in the same way as products. These links can contain affiliate IDs or other information to ensure that they contribute to your revenue from custom publications.

Custom Messages and Contact InformationIn "Salesperson Mode", your users have the ability to enter their own custom headlines and message at the time they submit their job. In "Visitor Mode", you fix the headlines and message to whatever you wish.

Header, Footer, and Background ImagesOne very cool way to give your publications a unique look is to upload your own "lifestyle" images that will appear in the header, footer or in the background. The options available to you are specific to the LayoutPak that you choose.

Your BrandingEvery publication generated through your Catalog-on-Demand account is branded with your logo, your color scheme, your graphic elements, and your headlines and messaging. You can even create multiple brand styles using the Job Parameter Set feature.

Currency SymbolYou can configure which currency symbol is used for your jobs. If the symbol you need is not in the list, please let us know!

Description FormattingChances are that you have used some formatting in your product descriptions. For example, you might want to make some words bold and other words italic.
