A camp of outdoor activities, skills and events for youth ages 10 to 26.
Arrive at camp anytime after 1:00pm on Friday July 28th
All participants must register at headquarters upon arrival.
Participants ages 15 and up are welcome to contact us to register under offer of service
Leaders, please remember that your youth are not to be left in camp without a responsible adult
Canteen items are available at HQ for purchase including; chips, drinks and treats.
Crests, water bottles and T-shirts can be purchased at HQ throughout the weekend
All groups are to come self-contained, including potable water
Small ground fires will be permitted (subject to a burn ban).
Camp stoves and Barbeques are to be used for cooking in lieu of open fires
First aid care will be available at the headquarters tent
Registration includes 1 crest per participant and the camp wide roast beef dinner on Saturday night.
Plaques will be given to top performers in two age categories for ‘Flat Rock Select’ events
All participants and equipment are to leave camp no later than 1:00pm on Sunday
Please be aware that picnic tables are not provided
Please car pool if possible, as parking is very limited
Our program events will encompass requirements for some troop badges such as the “paddler” and “first aider”.
If participants have access to lifejackets and/or paddles please bring them with you to assist with the challenge of ensuring
enough supply/proper fit. Be sure to label your gear clearly.

B.P Dinner
Each year the campers at Flat Rock gather together on the Saturday evening at the waterfront and share
in a roast beef dinner. The meal includes roast beef, baked potatoes, salads and all the fixings. Come
together with friends, enjoy a meal, laugh and share stories. Fun and food is brought to you by Flat Rock
Camp, all you need to bring is your mess kit and a drink. See the registration form for more details.
“Sweet Sensations” Dessert Cook-off Challenge
The “sweet Sensations” dessert cook off will be held on Saturday evening. This competition is open to
groups and individual campers. After the camp wide dinner you will have until 8:30pm to prepare your
own unique concoction and bring it down to the campfire circle where it will be tasted and voted on by a
panel of judges. The dessert with the most votes will win “best creation”.
Flat Rockin’ Shop
Camp apparel and crests will be available for purchase at the Head Quarters tent along with canteen
selections, including treats, drinks and swag!
River side Camping!
Flat Rock camp sites are beside the mighty Moira River. No field camping in this beautiful park! You will
have water access and swimming on or near your campsite. Listen to the owls calling up and down the
riverbank at night. Hear the frogs singing you to sleep and watch the fish jumping at the water bugs
during dusk and dawn.
Iron Person Competition!
An individual triathlon challenge open to all campers!
Special courses are set up for the iron person: Swim, run and Canoe. Your times for each component are
totalled to produce your overall standing. Awards are given to top placers in each age category including
Scouters.
Land & Water Events!
Timed events, challenge events, skill events and some events just for fun! All new, all awesome, come
and see what we have planned for you. Awards are given to top placers in all events, for both Scout and
Venturer categories. Be Prepared to Do Your Best and Challenge!
Displays and Demonstrations!
We are pleased and proud to showcase demonstrations and displays brought to you by your fellow
scouters.
Balance!
Flat Rock program is designed to give you: patrol challenges, individual challenges, laid back personal
recreation time and formal camp components such as campfire, Scout’s Own and awards ceremony.
Registration Details….
Weekend rate: $25.00 per person
Day rate: $15.00 per person
Day pass is valid from 9am to 5pm and includes access to the camp, participation in events and a crest.
Dinner is not included for day rate participants.
**Cheques are payable to Scouts Canada – F.R.R.I.C**
Registrations received/postmarked after the deadline of July 5th will be accepted but will incur a $5.00 (per
person) late fee. Also, since a head count is due to the caterer at this time, meals cannot be guaranteed for
any participants registered after the deadline. Any additional meals will be provided on a first-come, first-
served basis.
The number of participants registered with a group (day or weekend participants) may be changed (increased
or decreased) without penalty up until the registration deadline of July 5th. After July 5th, registrants will owe
full cost for the numbers given to the registrar.

To get to Vanderwater Park, Thomasburg Ontario…
Take 401 to Belleville, Highway 37 exit,
Go North to Thomasburg, (approx 20min)
Turn right onto Vanderwater Road,
Follow approximately 5 Min, across the bridge,
Turn Right into Vanderwater Conservation Area
Go through the conservation area and then continue towards the back of the park
Flat Rock HQ can be found on the right hand side just before the big gate
