Usability Study: Search Algorithm
Finding Recommendations
1. Results did not return the desired Format or Language
Improve relevance for results and avoid “cluttering” the screen with unrelated results
2. Searching was not user-focused
Improve overall aggregation of search results
3. Searching required users to
know “library” terminology
System should “speak” the user language by using words & phrases familiar to them

Please make it so I can find brand new items in the sfpl.org catalog.
I have problems navigating the site. just consider Google or Amazon for ease of use.
I order tons of DVDs online from SFPL. It would be nice if the website had a drop down menu just for DVD searches.
Are users finding what they are looking for?
I find myself using Amazon.com and then transferring information to the library website. And the search engine on the library website is so literal!!!! Argh!!!!!!!!

I didn't like it at first but now I love it. Makes things a lot easier.
I love, love this site! It is what has brought me back to the library after decades of Barnes & Noble. Thank you!

Hi folks! I was originally suspicious about your new catalogue but I now would like to congratulate you on an excellent site.
Yay! I'm so happy to have a source for reviews, ratings, recommendations, etc. through my public library, rather than relying on Amazon. This is such a great new benefit of the public library system!
