In 1661, he decided to take all the power in his hands and
then created the Absolute Monarchy. It was a form of
government which was last in France until 1789, which was
when the French Revolution occurred. He ruled France.

export trade so that the bulk of their money would stay inside France.

Louis controlled the C hurch, supported C atholicism.
Louis was against Jansen-ism ( who believe in predestination). Jansenist had two convents, one was Port-Royal
and Port Royal de C hamps).In 1713, He asked the pope, to introduce the Papal Bull ³Unigenitus´, which condemned all the Jansenist beliefs.
He persecuted a movement "Quietism", led by Madame De Guynon, it laid emphasis over love of God and for
God.
He introduced the revocation of¶ ³Edict of Nantes´, decrees were issued, made it harder for the Huguenots to get
jobs, made a lot of people n government lose their jobs, then the impact of this deal was limited.
He then introduced another policy the "Edict of Fontainebleau", this made Protestantism illegal, this made all theHuguenots to leave France, all these Protestants went to different places such as England and Holland, France lost
a number of its skilled laborers, which hurt the economy of France.

Louis XIV laid the foundation for all of the cultural and technological advances in Europe during
his time.
He created many institutions dedicated to science and was a huge asset to the scientists of his
era.
He was a huge part of European C ulture as well, being called the 'Sun King' because of his power
and popularity.
Louis XIV made a bold statement when he said "I am the state´.

Internal ProblemsInternal Problems
There were not many internal problems because Louis XIV had a firm grip on his government
and society.
He scheduled monthly meetings with his advisors and made sure everything was going well.
These advisors were hand pick by Louis XIV himself and were extremely trustworthy.
The tactics he used ensured a solid internal government.
