From Our Administrator

Our Lady of Divine Providence As many of you have already heard this year our parish has been given the great honor of housing the pilgrim image of our Lady of Divine Providence, patroness of Puerto Rico, in our church. The Blessed Mother is highly honored because she shows us the way to her son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He alone has the power to transform us and make us holy.

Devotion to the Blessed Mother helps us to know Jesus more, and that is why this moment for our parish is very important. We will have to opportunity to open our doors with more frequency to allow pilgrims to visit this beautiful image of our mother, Mary leading them to Jesus Christ. When we place ourselves in front of our Lord and Savior, amazing things happen. This honor also gives us the great opporrunity to evangelize our community, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother. In meditating on this image of the Blessed Mother we will contemplate the way she participated in the history of salvation as she accompanied and continues to accompany her son in His earthly ministry which continues right here and now through the holy catholic church. We know well that as baptized catholics we are called to reach out to one another in the name of Christ. This task begins in prayer and ultimately ends in conversion. On November 18th at 6:00 p.m. we will welcome the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Divine Providence to our parish with the celebration of solemn evening prayer. Evening prayer is part of the Liturgy of the Hours, the prayer of the church in which we pray for and with countless others. I hope that many of you will be able to mark your calendar to celebrate this moment of great pride for our parish. This evening begins a year that I have no doublt will be filled with many graces and blessings.

We have an incredible parish and we should be proud of it and celebrate it every and any chance that we get because it is here that we encounter Jesus who is very much alive and wants us to share in His divine life. Our Lady of Divine Providence. Pray for us!

NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA PROVIDENCIA

Como muchos de ustedes han escuchado, nuestra parroquia a recibido el gran honor de alojar la imagen peregrina de Nuestra Señora de la Divina Providencia, patrona de Puerto Rico, en nuestra iglesia. La Madre Santisima es altamente honrrada porque ella nos enseña el camino a su hijo, nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesucristo. El solo tiene el poder de transformarnos y hacernos santo.

La devoción a la Madre Santísima nos ayuda a conocer a Jesús más, y por esto es que este momento es muy importante para nuestra parroquia. Tendremos la oportunidad de abrir nuestras puertas con más frequencia para permitir que los peregrinadores visiten la bella imagen de nuestra madre, Maria llevandolos a Jesucristo. Cuando nos ponemos en frente de Nuestro Señor y Salvador cosas maravillosas suceden. Este honor también nos da la opotunidad de evangelizar a nuestra comunidad, a través de la intercesión de la Madre Santísima. Al meditar la imagen de la Madre Santísima contemplaremos la manera en que ella participó en la historia de la salvación mientras ella acompañaba y continua acompañando a su hijo en su ministerio terrenal el cual continua aquí y ahora a través de la santa iglesia católica.

Sabemos bien que, como católicos bautizados, estamos llamados a buscarnos unos a otros en nombre de Jesucristo. Esto comienza con la oración y últimamente termina en la conversión. En Noviembre 18 a las 6:00pm les daremos la bienvenida a la imagen peregrina de Nuestra Señora de la Divina Providencia en nuestra parroquia con la celebración solemne de las oraciones de la tarde. Las oraciones de la tarde son parte de la Liturgia de las Horas, la oración de la iglesia en la cual nosotros resamos por y con muchos otros. Espero que muchos de ustedes puedan marcarlo en su calendario para celebrar este momento de gran orgullo en nuestra parroquia. Esta tarde comenzara una año que sin duda estará lleno de gracias y bendiciones. Tenemos una parroquia increíble y debemos estar orgullos de ella y celebrarla todos y en todas las oportunidades posible porque es aquí que encontramos a Jesús quien esta verdaderamente vivo y quiere que compartamos de su vida divina. Nuestra Señora de la Divina Providencia. Ruega por nosotros!

LA BIENVENIDA DE LA IMAGEN PEREGRINA DE LA VIRGEN DE LA PROVIDENCIA VISPERA SOLEMNE NOVIEMBRE 18 A LAS 6:PM (Iglesia de arriba)

El grupo Providencia del Arquidiocesis de Nueva York nos han elegido guardar la Imagen Peregrina de La Virgen de La Providencia. La Imagen se va a quedar en

nuestra Iglesia por un año entero. Entonce vamos a dar la bienvenida de la Imagen en el 18 de Noviembre a las 6:pm de la tarde. La imagen vendrá directamente de la Catedral después de la misa en la Catedral y tendremos vísperas Solemne. Por favor

vengan para dar la bienvenida a esta imagen de nuestra Madre Celestial.

THE WELCOMING OF THE PILGRIM IMAGE OF THE VIRGIN OF PROVIDENCE VESPER SOLEMN NOVEMBER 18 AT 6:PM (upper church )

The Providence group of the Archdiocese of New York chose us to keep the Pilgrim

Image of Our Lady of Providence. The Image is going to stay in our Church for a whole year. Then we are going to welcome the Image on November 18 at 6:pm in the

afternoon. The image will come directly from the Cathedral after Mass in the Cathedral and we will have Solemn Vespers. Please come to welcome this image of

our Heavenly Mother.

RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults New Classes forming in St. John Chrisostom Parish for Fall 2018 RCIA is a process for adults

who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith leading to becoming a member of

the Catholic Church. Baptized Catholics who have not yet received the sacraments of Holy

Eucharist and /or Confirmation are welcome to complete their preparation for the sacraments of

initiation through participation in the RCIA process. The sacraments will administered at the

Easter Vigil which is on April 20, 2019. If you are tinerested in becoming a Catholic or

completing your sacraments of initiation please contact

Fr. Richard Marrano or Fr. Amable at 718-542-6164 or pass by

the rectory for an appointment. Classes are available in Spanish and English.

The Fee Is $50 Per Person or $75 Per Couple CLASSES IN ENGLISH EVERY

TUESDAYS AT 7PM IN THE RECTORY.

RICA: Rito de Iniciacion Cristiana para Adultos Estamos en el proceso de formación de clases para el Otoño 2019. RICA es un proceso para

adultos que están interesados en aprender mas acerca de la fe católica para llegar a ser miembro

de la Iglesia Catolica. Catolicos bautizados que no han recibido los sacramentos de Primera

Comunion y La Confirmacion están invitados a competer su preparación para los sacramentos

de Iniciacion a través del proceso de RICA. Los sacramentos serán administrados durante la

Vigilia Pascual el 20 de Abril 2019. Para recibir mas información sobre este proceso favor de
