GAP CHRISTMAS TRIP It’s that time of year again. Time to head for the mountains and receive the biggest blessing of the holiday season. Our annual GAP Christmas trip is scheduled for December 7th through 11th. Informa- tion sheets are available from Miss Pat with a break- down of what we will be doing each day. We will also be going on Monday, December 15 th for the “Kids Store” (For them to Shop for Parents.” This is the day we need the most help. Days are filling quickly so don’t wait until the last minute to get your name on the list!!! There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex. If you aren’t able to join us on the trip, you can still be part of the trip by joining us in prayer. We are already praying for the people we will come in contact with, for the children we will have the opportunity to work with, good weather to allow us to do all that God has for us to accomplish, and most importantly, that hearts will be changed. Also, if you are unable to make the trip but would like to contribute, we can always use cookies for Monday, the 15 th as we fellowship with the parents while the children do their shopping! Please see Miss Pat for details and to sign up. GAP CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE Our toy drive ends Sunday, November 9th, “Gift’s Sunday!” You will have an opportunity to present your gift in the morn- ing service on that day, however, please feel free to drop your gift in the barrel in the narthex. Remember: we are asking for new, unwrapped toys. The greatest need again seems to be for the teens, both boys and girls. For the “Parent Shop,” we need gifts for both Moms and Dads, but especially Dads. We have a tentative date set to take a load to GAP on Thursday, November 20th and would love to have to schedule a 2 nd trip!! Thank you in advance for your generosity! The Triumph A Place of Hope! Night of Worship

Here it is, my favorite time of year. Fall. I love the brisk coolness in the air and the vivid colors of the leaves, falling from the trees. Each changing season reminds me once again of the awesome and mighty God we have the privilege of serving. The holiday season is quickly approaching and with that comes the hectic pace we each seem to find ourselves caught up in. This Thanksgiving, take time out of your hectic schedule and talk with your kids about all that God has blessed your

family with. Then take time to truly thank Him. I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord with this awesome staff, for the vol-unteers that serve the best bunch of kids in the state of Kentucky, for the smiles, giggles and hugs of so many great kids that can bring you up on the lowest day, and mostly I’m thankful to have the opportunity to serve a risen Savior in such an awesome church. Happy Fall! Happy Thanksgiving! Miss Pat AWANA NEWS—CALENDAR CHANGES We have some exciting things coming up! Be sure to mark your calendars! November 5 – GAP Christmas Toy Night – Bring a NEW, UNWRAPPED toy to be taken with us to Eastern Kentucky for the Christmas Mission Trip! Clubbers will receive 100 points for bringing in a toy! November 12—“Light the Night” – Bring your flashlight! We will use them for open, close & game time as we discuss the darkness in the world. November 26 – NO AWANA – “Happy Thanksgiving”

UBC CHRISTMAS POST OFFICE The UBC Christmas Post Office will be up and running November 30th and open through December 21st. This is a great way to pass along holiday greetings to your church family. Please remember when addressing your cards, if the receiver is not presently attending UBC, the cards will not be forwarded to them. The post office will be run by the UBC children and parents. All proceeds will be put in the fund to assist those going to camp in 2015. The cost will be $.25 per card. Please place your card in the “TO BE SORTED” box and we’ll take care of the rest! * Parents, if your child will be going to camp, please see me to get on the rotation to help with the Post Office!!

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT Parents, need to do some Christmas shopping? Maybe you just need a date night. Well, drop your children off at UBC from 6 until 9:00 on Friday, December 5th, and let our wonderful youth care for them while you spend some quality time together! What do you need to do to get in on this? Watch the bulletin board for the sign-up sheet so you can indicate what they would like to eat from the choices given. Then send them in their pajamas along with their sleeping bag and pillow for an evening of games and movies in the sanctuary! Next, either when you drop them off or when you pick them up, come with some money as a donation to the youth to help cover camp expenses! See how easy that is? Youth, you will need to see Allen to sign-up to help!!

PAGE 2 THE TRIUMPH A PLACE OF HOPE!

Dear Friends, With just nine weeks left in this year, I’d like to

challenge us to finish strong in reaching our 2014 budget goal. Our weekly offering is used by God to bring people to Christ and grow them in God’s Word. In

addition to supporting the ministries of our church, we also give a portion of your gift (8%) to worthy missional causes so that Christ can be proclaimed all over the world. To date, we are more than $20,000 behind on our 2014 goal. Let’s rally together and make up for this short-fall, so that we can continue to reach our community and world as Christ has called upon us to do. Please join me in praying that those who don’t know the joy of faithful giving to God’s work would be moved to do so during this season of their life. Remember, as I shared with you in my October 26th message, we gladly give to those things we care about. May God give all of us a greater care for the things of God. Also, please be reminded that God’s plan for our giving to support His church is about more than the

money… it’s about our heart. I love you all dearly and thank God that I’m a part of a generous church body.

See You Sunday,

Pastor Kevin

(Matthew 6:19-21) “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where

thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

...it’s about our heart.

Senior Adult Trip

Harvest of Hope Our last event for 2014 is the Harvest of Hope Giving Tree. Again, we will help the kids at the Boone County Headstart pro-gram. Look for the tree to go up VERY soon. More details later. Again, thank you to a caring and generous church family. God Bless you all, Harvest of Hope Team

As we move into the holiday season it is good for us to remind ourselves of how blessed we are. We have been given so much from our Lord. So for Thanksgiving, take time to truly be thankful for the life God has given you. Good or bad, each day is a gift. Praise God! Upcoming Events: 11/12 - Youth Worship Party, Black-Out Party 11/14 - Parent’s Night Out 11/19 - Final series of semester, “Taken for Granted” 11/30 - No Small Groups

Black-Out Party This party is for all 6-12th grade students and will take place dur-ing our Open House Worship time. Feel free to bring friends. We will have games that involve glow in the dark themes & such. This event is free.

Parent’s Night Out Our first Parent’s Night Out for this school year will be November 14 from 6-9 pm. If you plan to come to camp with us next summer, this is a great way to earn some money toward your camp balance. Please sign-up out on the youth table. If you don’t sign-up you don’t get a cut of the money!

Taken For Granted In our final series of this semester, we will be looking at our blessings; and maybe getting a better outlook on what it is truly like in other cultures around the world. We have been given so much… yet it is inter-esting to see how unhappy people in our country are compared to people that have nothing.
