General Information Rolling window shall be 8500 Series as manu- factured by Lawson Industries, Inc., Medley, Florida, USA and shall conform to AAMA/ NWWDA 101/I.S.2.-97, for HS-R 50, A.A.M.A. 1302.5-76 for forced entry resistance. Construction All window members shall be of commercial quality 6063 aluminum hardened to T5 and T6 temper. All frame members shall have a mini- mum dimension of 1 7/8”, cut and fabricated to form a tight butt or telescoped joint. All frame corners shall be joined by two #8 sheet metal screws. Vertical meeting rails shall be of tubular construction and attached to horizontals with one sheet metal screw per joint. Vent rails shall also be of tubular design and contain integrally extruded pull rails. Vent lock rail shall be fitted with weathering bulb vinyl to seal vent to jamb of frame. Weathering at jamb shall also contain polypropylene pile with trans- parent vinyl fin. Each vent rail shall contain two 3”-long spring-loaded claw latches that engage with full- length jamb lip to provide positive, secure latching. Finish Exposed aluminum shall be coated with an electrostatically applied organic finish, meeting the performance requirements of A.A.M.A. 603.5 for pigmented coating. Coating shall have a minimum of 1.0 mil dry film thickness in a white or bronze color. Hardware Sash shall roll on two .437 diameter brass roll- ers with stainless steel axles. General InformationFrench doors shall be “La Porte” as manu-factured by Lawson Industries, Inc., Medley, Florida, USA, conforming with ANSI/AAMA 101-93 standard, for SWD-RGS/F.E.R., Miami Dade County and F.B.C.

ConstructionExtrusion shall be 6063 aluminum in T5 and T6 temper, with walls of from .078” to .125” nominal thickness at all structural locations. Frame jamb shall be tubular shaped. Head, jamb and sill shall have a dimension of 1 3/4” x 4 1/2”. Frame shall be assembled by secur-ing head and sill to jambs using eight con-cealed sheet metal screws. Panels shall be assembled using a 5/16”-diameter,continuously threaded steel rod, running through top and bottom rail from stile to stile. Each rod end shall be held firmly with wash-ered hex nuts. Sill shall have an overall height of 2” andcontain a 1 1/4” step for panel rail to seat. Exterior face of rail shall finish flush with outside edge of sill. Door shall be exterior swing, pro-viding the best possible protection against water infiltration. Frame head shall contain integral hood projecting out from header to deflect cling-ing water from running directly down head and into opening at top of panel. A double stacked bottom rail shall be available as an added option.

FinishDoor panels, jambs and headers shall receive an electrostatically applied organic 1.0 mil thick dry film organic coating which meets the performance requirements of A.A.M.A. 603.5 in a choice of bronze or white. All sills shall be mill finish.

HardwareActive door stile shall be routed for 2 1/8”-diam-eter dead bolt and latch with 2 3/8” backset. Concealed face of inactive leaf shall contain top and bottom flush bolts with stainless steel shaft to engage into header and sill, prevent-ing inactive leaf from opening when bolts are engaged. Two heavy-duty extruded aluminum hinges with stainless steel hinge pin shall sup-port each door leaf.

MuntinsMuntins shall be adhesive-applied to interior and exterior surface of each panel and side light. Configuration shall be radiused profile extrusion on both interior and exterior side of unit.

GlassPanels shall be glazed with 3/16”-thick tem-pered glass as standard. Glass color is as specified.

Weather StrippingAll stiles and rails shall be weathered using a combination of a flexible virgin PVC bulb and

430/440/450 SLIDING GLASS DOOR

General InformationSliding glass doors shall be of series 430, 440 or 450 as manufactured by Lawson Industries, Inc., Medley, Florida, USA.

ConstructionAll door members shall be of commercial quality 6063 aluminum alloy to T5 and T6 temper. Door stiles shall be notched to allow top and bottom rails to telescope into stiles for maximum strength. Locking and fixed stiles to be of tubular design with minimum dimension of 1” x 1”. Tracks shall be of sloped exterior design with a 1 3/4” vertical riser as standard. Optional tracks with various vertical risers shall be available for conditions requiring higher positive pressures. Top of vertical door stiles shall be joined to horizontal rails using two #10 x 3/4”sheet metal screws. Bottom door rails shall be joined to stile using one #10 x 3/4”sheet metal screw.

FinishDoors, jambs and headers shall receive anelectrostatically applied 1.0 mil dry fill thick-ness coating which meets the performance requirements of A.A.M.A. 603.5 in a choice of bronze or white. All tracks and thresholds shall be finished.

ConstructionBasic frame sections shall be 1 7/8” extrudedaluminum alloy 6063. Corner of main frame shall be coped to receive its mating extrusion and joined mechanically by two sheet metal screws. All assembly screw heads and corner joints shall be factory-sealed. Glazing material shall be set in a bed of wet A.A.M.A. approved glazing compound. Glazing beads of extruded 1/2”x 1/2”x .062” shall be set in glazing com-pound and exposed sealant tooled to provide smooth minimum radiused seam. Main frame, glazing bead, interior and exterior glazing muntins shall be formed in an infinite com-bination of bends to meet job requirements. All muntin crossovers, and end brackets shall be of nylon with homogeneous color of either white or bronze to closely match the color of frame and muntins.

Load cell, a device that mea-sures tensile loads. It is used in our in-house testing facility to evaluate the structural strength of various product components.
