“We beheld the Angel, holding a chalice in his le hand with the Host suspended above it, from which some drops of blood fell into the chalice. Leaving the (Host and) chalice suspended in the air, the Angel lay prostrate on the ground beside us and made us repeat three mes:”

“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of the

same Son, Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the

sacrileges, outrages, and indifference by which He Himself is offended.

And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of

poor sinners.”- The Angel of Fama

“It is written: The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.” MATTHEW 4:10 Tempted between the riches and power of this world and ser-vice to God, Jesus chose service to His Father. If we wish to truly follow Jesus, we, too, must decide to turn away from pow-er and riches and put God at the center of our lives. How is God calling you to serve?

As President Dwight Eisenhower said, “it is well for us to pause, to acknowledge our debt to those who pay so large a share of free-dom’s price”. As we stand in grateful remembrance of their contri-buons, we invite you to thank these men and women for keeping us safe through their heroism and efforts. Today, say a special pray-er for them, their families and loved ones. Be sure to take the me to say “thank you”, or give a warm handshake to an acve duty soldier or veteran. St. Ambrose School Corner Middle School Social Studies

We’ve been very busy in middle school social studies. Here are some examples of what the students have been doing:

In 6th grade, students recently completed a unit on ancient Egypt. They studied the geography of Egypt, the importance of the Nile River, some of the important dynases and rulers, and many of the invenons and achievements. To cap off this fun unit, students created virtual muse-ums of ancient Egypt using Google Slides. These museums included arfacts, images, and informaon about what the students learned about the history, culture, and people of ancient Egypt. We are now studying ancient India.

In 7th grade we just completed the American Revoluon and are now learning about the early government of the United States. The students completed a number of different projects to help highlight some of the most important ideas and events. These projects include the creaon of internet memes about the Boston Tea Party, slideshows presenng informaon about important bales of the Revoluonary War, and the “Tweety of Paris” where students created “tweets” about the Treaty of Paris. Most recently students created online comic strips about Shays’ Rebellion. The US Constuon is next.

In 8th grade we have been exploring the mid-1800s, including the chang-es in America as it heads toward the Civil War. Students focused on many of the reform movements of the 19th century – including women’s rights, the abolionist movement, and educaon. They created digital posters about the reform movements, highlighng the important peo-ple and ideals of these movements. Right now we are analyzing the issues, events, and people that all helped caused the Civil War, with a parcular focus on the issue of slavery.

Plenary Indulgence FATIMA, Portugal

Our Lady of Fama

For the 100th anniversary of the apparions of Our Lady of Fama in Portugal, Pope Francis has decided to grant a plenary indulgence opportunity throughout the enre anniversary year, which began November 27, 2016, and will end November 26, 2017. To obtain the plenary indulgence, the faithful must also fulfill the ordinary condi-ons:

Go to confession and Communion, be interiorly detached from sin,

and pray for the Holy Father. Those seeking an indulgence must also pray an Our Father, recite the Creed, and invoke Our Lady of Fama. These individuals can pray in front of a statue of Our Lady of Fama and must spiritually unite themselves to the jubilee celebraons on the days of the appa-rions, the 13th of each month, between May and October 2017. They also must “offer to merciful God with confidence, through Mary, their prayers and sufferings or sacrifices they make in their own lives”.

A Message from the Pastor By now, you have received a leer from Bishop Checchio inving

your parcipaon in the

2017 Bishop’s Annual Appeal Ambassadors for Christ

The diocesan ministries supported by the Appeal directly impact many of the parishioners here in St. Ambrose. Your gi provides formaon opportunies for our catechists, deacons, youth and young adults. Among other important ministries, your sacrificial giving also allows our hospital chaplains to minister to those experi-encing physical and emoonal pain and helps to prepare our semi-narians for a life in the priesthood.

If you have yet to make your pledge to this year’s Bishop’s Annual Appeal, you will have the opportunity to do so next weekend, March 11/12, which has been designated as Bishop’s Annual In-Pew Week-end. Please prayerfully consider a gi to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal to help our parish reach its goal. If we can exceed our goal, 50% of the amount collected over goal will be returned to us in the form of a parish rebate. Just as important as our financial goal, is our goal of reaching 100% parcipaon. Every gi, no maer the size, is im-portant and greatly appreciated.

Thank you Fr. Jack
