The technique behind the TC 3000 thermocoagulator?

The principle of thermo coagulation is the heating of the vein which makes it coagulate. This rise in temperature is achieved by sending a high frequency pulse from the tip of a thin needle. Because the needle is insolated, the eff ect is very local and eff ects on the surrounding tissue is limited. Although the TC 3000 is also using a needle, thermo coagulation is profoundly diff erent from electro coagulation. Electro coagulation provokes a chemical burn, is more painful and knows more side eff ects such as scarring.

Precise control (generator)The duration of the pulse can be set from 0,1 to 1 seconds in 0,1 second steps. The pulse power can be selected in 5 % steps. The combination of both settings allow for very precise control over the amount of energy administered.

Safety (needle)Due to he use of insolated needles, only the tip of the needle is heated, so the skin will not be damaged. Therefore there are no depigmentation or burnstains. For every new treatment the settings of time and power of the impulse can be changed by the specialist. The two needles which have been developed especially for Thermocoagulation are the R3i and R6i. Each needle has it’s own specifi c properties. The R3i needle is suitable for the treatment of couperose on the face and the R6i needle is suitable for the veins situated on the legs.

Dr. Jean-Luc Richard has published the results of a clinical trial of the TC 3000 and thermo coagulation. The study showed that the new techniques for treating teleangiectasies is reliable and without lasting side eff ects. Several studies, done by Dr. Jean-Marc Chardonneau between march 1999 and january 2005, based on over 7000 sessions, confi rm:• eff ective for all vein problems, especially those with a diameter less then 0.9 mm which cannot
