Another option is our spacious, bright, multi-purposeroom, located on the lower level, which seats 130 people.It offers you a grand space with a beautiful view of thepark, and the ideal spot for that special function. (Partiesthat are 4 hours also have use of our spacious loungearea/kitchen, which is suitable for catered events.)

PicnicsThe Rye Recreation Department invites you to have yourfamily, company or organization’s picnic at RecreationPark. Picnic grounds are available from May throughSeptember. They provide the perfect setting for yourfunction. Fees are available upon request and are based onthe number of people in your party. Picnic facilities canaccommodate 20-150 people. A $75 deposit is requiredwhen you reserve your date. Softball fields may be securedon select days for an additional fee of $200 for 2 hours(subject to change).

MISSION of the RYE SENIOR ADVOCACY COMMITTEE:To support the concerns of Rye's elder adults, toadvocate for their needs, and seek new models andopportunities to better accommodate Rye's growingolder population. Our vision is to develop andmaintain a healthy, diverse populace in which citizensof all ages have the opportunity to contribute to thestrength of the Rye community.

ROLE: In order to best coordinate the implementationof its mission, the chairperson of the RSAC is to bedesignated SENIOR ADVOCATE for the City of Rye, andwill be responsible for carrying out the Committee'spurposes that are aligned to the goals of the Mayorand City Council in its commitment to serve our seniorresidents; and maintain the SENIOR RESOURCEDIRECTORY on the City's Website to give resourceguidance to members of our community.

GENERAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration/Enrollment:Unless otherwise specified, registration for allprograms begins on the specified date and remainsopen until the program is full. Walk-ins take priority.

*** All registrations received prior to the registrationdate AND any registrations faxed in on the day ofregistration will be put into the processing queue atthe end of the first day of registration. No phoneregistrations are accepted.

Late Registration:Individuals registering late will be required to pay thetotal fee. Program fees will not be prorated.

Non-residents Registration:If space is available in a program, non-residents mayregister 1-week after registration has been open toresidents. Please refer to the specific program foradditional fees.

Payment:Full payment is expected at the time of registration.Rye Recreation accepts cash, checks or credit cards.Checks should be made payable to the “City of Rye”.Credit cards accepted are MasterCard and Visa only.

Returned Checks:A $20.00 fee will be assessed for all checks returnedfor insufficient funds. Returned checks cannot be re-deposited. Cash or Money Order will be required toreplace the returned check and service charge.

Photographs:By registering for any of the offerings listed in thisbrochure, you acknowledge for yourself or those youare registering that photographs of participants maybe taken and used in City of Rye publications andwebsites.

Program Cancellations & Refunds:Program Cancellation Due to Lack of Enrollment: If a program does not have a sufficient number ofparticipants registered, the program may be cancelledby the Recreation Department. A full refund will beissued to the customer’s account. A refund to theoriginal form of payment (check or credit card) maybe requested by the customer.

Refund Policy:If a participant becomes ill or injured and is unable toattend the remaining sessions of a program, a proratedrefund will be issued to the customer’s account. Adoctor’s note is required and the request must bereceived within a week of the injury.

If a participant wishes to withdraw from a programprior to the program’s start, the request must be madein writing a minimum of five days before the start ofthe program. The refund request also can be emailedto [email protected]. A refund will be issued tothe customer’s account, less a 25% processing fee.No refunds will be considered after this time.

Weather related cancellations:Check with the department for all other programcancellations or call the Recreation hot line 1-hourbefore the program for the latest information (390-1379). If the public schools are closed, RyeRecreation programs held in school facilities will alsobe cancelled.

Insurance:The City of Rye maintains a standard liabilityinsurance policy that does not cover medical costs foranyone injured during the normal course ofparticipation in any Recreation Department programor facility. ALL persons participate at their own risk.

Senior Citizens:Senior citizens are defined as permanent City of Ryeresidents ages 60 or older.

REGISTER EARLY!! Most programs have minimum requirements and may be cancelled due to lowenrollment. Nothing cancels programs more than waiting until the last minute to register. In addition,programs have maximum enrollments and may fill up quickly.

Rye Recreation offers a variety of camp programs thatmeet the needs of various age groups. Rye Recreation, incooperation with the Rye City School District, offerscamp programs at both Rye Recreation and Rye CitySchool District facilities. All camps are licensed by theWestchester County Department of Health and adhere toall regulations set by this agency. Rye Recreation Camps’goal is to provide a safe and fun experience for yourchild. Camper to staff ratios are done in accordance withguidelines set by the health department. Great care istaken to hire qualified staff to care for your child(ren).

❤ KIDDY CAMPThis classroom based camp program is for those childrenof pre-school age (ages 3 - 5). Supervised by adult staff,daily activities include games, music, story time, dance,special events, crafts and more. Children are placed intogroups based upon their date of birth. All childrenmust be 3 by April 30, 2015 and toilet trained tobe eligible. Camp hours are from 9:00 - 12:00 noon.

❤ DAY CAMPChildren enrolled in Grades K - 6 can enjoy RyeRecreation’s Camp Program. Children in grades K - 2make-up the “Lower Camp”. Those in Grades 3 - 6attend camp for a full day and are part of the “UpperCamp”. Both camp programs offer a variety of sportsand games as well as crafts and special events. Specialfee programs that are offered to campers includeSwimming, Mad Science, Computers, Trips and ExtendedCare Hours.

❤ CAMP 78This TEEN Camp program includes both 7th & 8thgraders. This camp features unique opportunitiesincluding sports, trips and a community service project.Trips in 2014 included Rock Climbing, Great Adventure, aride on The Beast and more. When applying for a position please read below andmake sure you meet the minimum qualifications:All Staff must be available for 6-weeks of camp: June 29 -August 7 as well as attendance at all scheduled orientations

• Junior Counselor/Counselor in Training: must be entering9th or 10th grade in fall 2015 and be younger than 16years of age on June 29, 2015. All those applying for ourJunior Counselor positions have until March 1st to submitan application. We will not accept any applications afterthat point. This is a volunteer only position!

• Camp Counselor: must be at least 16 years of age by June29, 2015.

• Head Counselor: must be going into their senior year ofHigh School or College age with previous experience.
