Upcoming Events
The 2018 Mass Intentions book is now open. Please call or visit the Parish office to place your intentions.
The next Parish Council meeting will take place this Monday, November 20, 2017 at 7:30pm in the cafeteria.
The next Parish Food Drive will take place the weekend of November 25th and 26th, and it will be for our own parishioners.
Advent Tree Event: We will hold “A Baby Shower to Honor Baby Jesus.” It will take place from November 25 to December 10, 2017. This collection will be given to St. Mary’s Hospi-tal’s “Mother to Mother” program.
The Oplatki will be distributed on Decem-ber 9, 2017 during the Masses.
St. Mary’s Assumption Rosary Society will hold it’s annual Advent Celebration on De-cember 9, 2017. It will take place at Que Pas-ta in Saddle Brook, from 12pm—4pm. The cost is $35. Please contact Elizabeth Gallardo.

Next weekend, November 25th and 26th we will hold our monthly collection of food. This month our own parishioners will be accepting your unfailing donations. All items must be non perishable food.
The following items are very useful: cereal, oatmeal, pasta and sauce, canned meats, canned vegetables, soups, tuna fish, white rice, beans, canned milk or packaged milk, peanut butter, jelly, juice and canned fruits.

Saint Nicholas Christmas Gala
The annual Saint Nicholas Christmas Gala will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 7pm to 11pm in St. Mary’s Au-ditorium. The cost of one ticket is $25 for those 15 years of age and older. For more in-formation or to purchase tickets please contact the parish office.

EL Libro de las Intenciones de Misa del 2018 ya esta abierto. Para poner Misas para el 2018 por favor llame o visite a la oficina parro-quial.
La próxima reunión del Consejo Parro-quial será el lunes, 20 de noviembre a las 7:30pm en la cafetería.
La próxima Colecta de Comida Parroquial será el 25 y 26 de noviembre. Esta colecta será para nuestros propios parroquianos.
Tendremos un “Baby Shower para honrar al Niño Jesús.” Tendrá lugar del 25 de no-viembre al 10 de diciembre de 2017. Esta colección se entregará al programa de “Madre a Madre” del hospital de Santa María.
El Oplatki se distribuirá el 9 de diciembre, durante las Misas.
La Sociedad del Rosario de la Asunción de María realizará su celebración anual de Adviento el 9 de diciembre de 2017. Se lle-vará a cabo en Que Pasta en Saddle Brook, de 12 p.m. a 4 p.m. El costo es de $35. Por favor, póngase en contacto con Elizabeth Gallardo.

Gala de Navidad de San Nicolás
La Gala de Navidad de San Nicolás tendrá lugar el sábado, 9 de diciembre, de 7pm hasta las 11pm, en el auditorio de la Asun-ción de Santa María, 63 Monroe St. Passaic. El costo de una boleta es de $25, para ma-yores de 15 anos. Para mas información por favor, llame a la oficina parroquial.

Advent Giving Tree Collection Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mary’s Church,
“Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.” Luke 1:31.
Greetings to all! Soon we will be celebrating the Advent season. During this season a charity is chosen to give one the opportunity to help with much needed resources.
The “Mother to Mother” program from St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic was chosen to receive help during this giving season. We will hold a “Baby Shower to Honor Baby Jesus.” The Advent Tree will be displayed starting November 26, 2017. The tree will have tags written in both English and Spanish, with items that are needed to help mothers to be.
The wish list includes the following: The items are for GIRLS AND BOYS. Socks, 0-12 months
Blankets and receiving blankets Sleepwear, 0-12 months
Clothes, 0-12 months Desitin ointment for diaper rash.
You are invited to take a tag or tags and purchase the item or items. All items must be brand new. No wrapping paper is necessary. All items must be returned by December 10, 2017. If tags run out please use the bulletin where all the items are listed. Thank you so much for supporting this event and bringing joy to a mother to be.

A SPECIAL INVITATION TO ALL This Sunday, November 19, at 3:30pm, the annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Passaic Ecumenical Committee will be held in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 10 St. Francis Way, Passaic.
The homilist will be Rev. Brendan Galvin, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Passaic. St. Mary’s parochial vicar, Fr. Jose Miguel Jimenez, will be proclaiming the gospel at this service.
“With thankful hearts, we pray for peace,” is the theme of the service. The ecumenical Choir compromised of members of the Passaic churches will lead the congregation in song.
All those who attend are asked to bring an offering of non-perishable food items, (canned or packaged) to be distributed to the needy of the Passaic area.
Many clergy and members of churches throughout the city and beyond will join in praising and thanking God for His many blessings and in enjoying each other’s company at a social in the church hall after the service. This is a beautiful and uplifting way to begin Thanksgiving week.
All are welcome! Please invite your family and friends and join in the celebration!

Colecta del Árbol de Adviento Queridos parroquianos y amigos de la Iglesia de la Asunción de María,
“He aquí, concebirás en tu seno y darás a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús.” Lucas 1:31.
¡Saludos a todos! Pronto estaremos celebrando la temporada de Adviento. Du-rante esta temporada, se elige una organización benéfica para brindarle la oportu-nidad de ayudar con los recursos que tanto se necesitan.
El programa “Madre a Madre” del Hospital St. Mary’s en Passaic fue elegido para recibir ayuda durante esta temporada de donaciones. Tendremos un “Baby Shower para Honrar al Niño Jesús.”
El árbol de Adviento se mostrará a partir del 26 de noviembre de 2017. El árbol tendrá etiquetas escritas en inglés y español, con elementos que se necesitan para ayudar a las madres nuevas.
La lista de deseos incluye lo siguiente: Los artículos son para NIÑAS Y NIÑOS. Calcetines, 0-12 meses
Mantas y mantas receptoras Ropa de dormir, 0-12 meses
Ropa, 0-12 meses Ungüento de Desitin para la dermatitis del pañal.
Está invitado a tomar una etiqueta o etiquetas y comprar el artículo o los artículos. Todos los ar-tículos deben ser nuevos. No es necesario papel de envolver. Todos los artículos de-ben ser devueltos antes del 10 de diciembre de 2017. Si las etiquetas se agotan, utilice el bo-letín donde se enumeran todos los artículos. UNA INVITACIÓN ESPECIAL PARA TODOS
El próximo domingo, 19 de noviembre, a las 3:30 p.m., se lle-vará acabo el Servicio Ecuménico de Acción de Gracias patro-cinado por el Comité Ecuménico de Passaic. Tendrá lugar en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo, 10 St. Fran-cis Way, Passaic.
El encargado de la Homilia será el Rev. Brendan Galvin, pastor de la Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida, Passaic. El vicario parroquial de la Asunción de María proclamara el evangelio en este servicio.
“Con corazones agradecidos, oramos por la paz”, es el tema del servicio. El Coro ecuménico de los miembros de las iglesias de Passaic dirigirá a la congregación.
A todos los que asistan se les pide que traigan una ofrenda de alimentos no perecede-ros, (enlatados o empacados) para ser distribuidos a los necesitados del área de Passaic.
Muchos clérigos y miembros de iglesias de toda la ciudad y más allá se unirán para alabar y agrade-cer a Dios por sus muchas bendiciones y para disfrutar de la compañía de los demás en una reunión social en la sala de la iglesia después del servicio. Esta es una forma hermosa y edificante de comenzar la semana de Acción de Gracias.
