During this season, please take your children to the Chil- dren Chapel or the Small Social Hall and pick them up after the service. 0-3yrs: While the nursery is currently unstaffed and has been emptied of toys, it is available for parents to watch the livestream in this space with their child. 3yrs-5th Grade: The kids begin their experience in ‘big church’ and then go to Kids Quest in the Small Social Hall or Children’s Chapel, on the lower level. Pray for: Cheryl Newendorp’s brother, David, who lives in Ecuador. David is suffering from kidney failure. God’s nearness to Judy Smid traveling to Mayo Tuesday, Septem- ber 1 for further testing. God’s nearness to Gary Van Vark as his cancer has returned. Supernatural will meet on Sundays, starting September 6 at 11 am in the Small Social Hall. What the Bible teaches about the unseen and why it matters. You may never read the Bible the same way again. Led by Pastor Tom Johnson Theology for Regular People will meet on Wednesday night, starting September 9 at 6:30 pm in the Large Social Hall. Learn all about Reformed Theology in a non-threatening environment. We will learn the basics of what we believe as a church and why we believe it. Led by Pastor Bob. Life Groups Would you like to be a part of a small loving commu-nity committed to loving each other, growing deeper in Christ, praying and caring for each other all in the warmth of a home? We have Six Life Groups that are open to anyone. MenConnect is studying the Book of Amos on Tuesdays at 6:30 am in the Large Social Hall. Helping men/women become disciples of Jesus Christ by loving, learning and living the Word in the context of loving, accountable relationships. Led by Pastor Bob. Starting Point This five week class will start on Sunday, Septem-ber 6 at 11 am in Pastor Bob’s office and will help you meet, know and follow Jesus. This comfortable environment is for people who desire exploring what it means to be a Partner in Mission [Member] at First. Led by Pastor Bob. First Adults Special Offering - Today, August 30 on the way out of church you will have opportunity to give an offering to the National GEMS and Cadets ministry which provides such helpful support to ministries like ours. Wednesday Night Kids Quest with GEMS, Cadets & Squires will start back up this Wednesday, September, 2. Calling Prayer Warriors – We are looking for people to pray for our GEMS girls this year. If you are interested in praying specifically for and encouraging one or two girls on a consistent basis, please contact Deb at [email protected] or 641-780-4380. First Church Fall Festival will be Saturday, October 3. More details to come.
