related to property wrongfully expropriated have enacted programs through which victims can
make claims for restitution of the reasonable \'alue of their assets, W1::11 one exception The
Republic of Poland has failed to honor obligations to property owners. including bond and
currency holders and others,
The Republic of Poland has and continues to attempt to evade its contractual. legal and

156. Defendants' actions are in direct violation of the New York Statepec,eptive &
Unfair Trade Practices Act and as such they should be enjoined.
WHEREFORE, Plaintiffs demand judgment and pray for (i) a judgment
permanently enjoining Defendants POLAND, FINANCE, NATIONAL BANK and WARSA W
conduct of its business in the United States and specifical1y in New York based on its failure to
ful1y and completely disclose its obligations to Plaintiffs and other Bondholdersand its failure to
pay for same and (ii) interest, attorneys' fees, and costs of this action.
PRAYER FQR RELIEF
Plaintiffs demand a bench trial against Defendant? POLAND, FINANCE,
NATIONAL BANK and \VARSA W; and a jury trial as against Defendants CITIBANK,
MORGAN CHASE and FLEET BOSTON, MORGAN CI:-IASE and FLEET BOSTON jointly,
severally and/or in the alternative, as follows:
a)' For declaratory / injunctive relief for deceptive and unfair tTade practices in
violation of New Yark State Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act;

b) For compensatory damages in an amount equal to THE POLISH
cor."IMERCIAL PAPER, plus interest compounded annually from 1945 to
the present, and \~hich damages exceed the jurisdictional limits of this Court
and which damages shall be determined by the ultimate trier of fact but which
Plaimiffs anticipate to he in excess of ONE BILLION OF DOLLARS;
c) . for equitable disgorgement and imposition of constructive tnJst in an amount
to be detem1ined by the ultimate trier of fact based upon Defendants'
aforesaid unjust enrichment and which amount Plaintiffs anticipate to be in
excess of ONE BILLIO~ OF DOLLARS;
d) for equitable relief as the COUr1 deems appropriate;
e) For special, exemplary, andJor punitive damages in the amount necessary and
sufficient to prevent Defendants trom engaging in future wrongful acts;
