WELCOME

It is a great pleasure for us to welcome you to the 1st International IAMOS-ALACIBU-ACCOMF

Symposium, the first International Scientific Meeting in the framework of a new IAOMS project,

with the aim of organising a series of scientific events in the different regions of the world which

discuss the advances in distinct areas of expertise at the highest level, also offering residents

and younger specialists the opportunity to actively participate by presenting their abstract in

poster format. We are pleased that the first of these meetings is being held in Latin America, and

specifically Colombia, with the support of the Latin American and Colombian speciality associa-

tions. We encourage you to participate in this important event that we are sure will put a historic

footprint in Progress in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in this region of the world, as well as an

increase of Latin American surgeons participating in international activities through the IAOMS.

WeatherLatitude and altitude of the city result in a subtropical monsoon climate. The climate is

temperate and humid, with an average temperature of 22 ° C. The nickname “city of eternal

spring” comes from the fame of a fairly uniform year-round climate.

There is a city urban bus private system serving all districts or areas of the city, which

is being structured in 2007 in call SIT, Integrated Transport System, a project already

underway to integrate the service of urban buses with the Metro and the new Metroplús

system. Similarly, there are numerous taxi companies covering the entire metropolitan area.
