It is the biggest cultural, economic and educational centre in South India. The city has a tropical wet and dry climate, with maximum temperatures ranging around 35-40˚C (95-104 ˚F). January is the coolest month of the year with minimum temperatures of 19-25˚C (66-77 ˚F). Chennai boasts of a wide architectural chronology including the Kapaleeshwarar Temple , Mylapore (7 th Century), the Heritage temples of Mamallapuram (Pallava period), Fort St. George (1644), St. Mary’s Church (17 th Century). Other recreation areas of the city include the zoo, beaches and wildlife parks. Considering the broad range of topics, the conference organizers have strived to maintain a balance between basic science and translational research. Consequently by highlighting recent advances in their respective fields, this conference will provide a stimulating environment promoting exchange of ideas between leading scientists, students and industry personnel. The AU-KBC (Anna University K B Chandrasekhar) Research Centre (www.au-kbc.org) in Anna University Chennai was set up in 1999 as a joint effort between the University and one of its alumni Dr. K. B. Chandrasekhar, a global entrepreneur and technology investor based in the USA. A pioneering initiative in Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) in Indian R&D, the AU-KBC Centre works with a unique model of being a part of an “Innovation Ecosystem” that connects research to markets and users. Accommodation for out-station delegates will be arranged at the conference venue in the Green Coconut Resort.

Abstracts based on original research on any one of the conference themes mentioned should be sent via email

[email protected] on or before 30th November, 2016. Accepted abstracts will be intimated by 15th December, 2016. Abstracts should be prepared using MS Word (Times New Roman, font size 12) and not exceed 250 words. Abstracts should include Title (bold font), all Author names (underline presenter’s name), affiliated institute address and email address. Abstracts will be accepted only from registered delegates.

Green Coconut Resort (GCR) is located on East Coast Road, off the Bay of Bengal. GCR is an eco-friendly resort and is equipped with six types of conference halls, spacious suites, super deluxe and cottages, Dolphin swimming pool, the fish pond, the Crystal bar, The Palmyra Restaurant and garden restaurant. The resort possesses sprawling lawns, tall coconut trees as sentinels, and colorful flowering shrubs. The dining menu includes both South Indian and Continental varieties. Pristine sun soaked beach of the Bay of Bengal is 10 minutes walk from the resort.
