Sapienza promotes incoming mobility of foreign

scholars as "visiting professors”

• 2 Calls for proposals per year: – Teaching activities

– Research activities

• Applicants: Sapienza’s teachers and researchers

interested in hosting a foreign scholar;

• Period of stay: min. 3 months, max. 6 months. Must

be continuous.



Visiting Professors International Office - Research Unit

• Financial support for visiting professors ranges from

€3,000 to €4,000 per month (before taxes)

• Applications are evaluated by a Committee on the

basis of the following criteria: – the CV of the visiting professor,

– the rank of the institution,

– the quality of activities and objectives foreseen,

– the financing of previous applications,

– the international context of the visit.

• Date of publication: 17 March 2014

• Deadline: 8 May 2014

• Budget: – € 118.800 (11 TA - Teaching Activities)

– € 380.700 (47 RA - Researching Activities)

• Applicants: – 18 TA

– 88 RA

Visiting professors per country (period 2009 – 2013)

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship

The programme

• MSCA-IF promotes the mobility of researchers as

well as attracting the best foreign researchers to

work in the EU

• The grant provides a salary (min12 months, max 24

months), a mobility allowance, research expenses

and overhead costs for the host institution

• Individual researchers may submit proposals for

funding in liaison with a host organization

• Proposals are evaluated on the basis of their

research quality, the researcher's career prospects

and the support provided by the host organisation



The programme

Who can apply?

• Researchers may be of any nationality and must

have either a doctoral degree or at least 4 years

full-time research experience.

• Mobility rule: researchers must not have resided

or carried out their main activity (work, studies,

etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months during the 3

previous years immediately prior to the reference

date.
