Finally 12 hectares of its westernmost corner have arrived at its designated, bio-diverse and happy function. The new Green Point Park, open from sunrise to sunset all year and accessible through four gates, offers a fresh visual vantage on the city and its mountains. With a lake, fynbos garden, and an educational parcours, Green Point Park has given green, the ultimate megatrend of the past billion years, a new home. DIVERSIFY, DIVERSIFY, DIVERSIFY The mantra of any stockbroker holds true for the expansion strategies of Giorgio Nava. All we need to think about are our movements within an energetic bubble of two cubic metres, hovering blissfully above our exercise mat. And that’s why the mat is so important. We spend a lot of time with it, as we rotate, stretch, kneel and backbend. It’s warm, comfy and doesn’t talk back at us. And at times, when we lie on it, face down, with our lips millimetres away from it, blissful union can seem tantalisingly within reach … unless you happen to inhale some of the nasty chemicals that find their way into most mats.
