Las Vegas, USA, January 14 2014 – Terex will showcase a comprehensive range of products and services at
CONEXPO 2014 in a spacious outdoor exhibit located in the outdoor Gold Lot, booth number 1047. The Terex
exhibit is designed to introduce the company’s latest products and reinforce its commitment to delivering
customer-driven equipment and service solutions for the construction, infrastructure, quarrying, mining,
shipping, transportation, refining, energy, utility and manufacturing industries.
The Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Construction, Cranes, and Materials Processing business segments will
showcase new equipment, innovative safety features and unique service solutions. All of these offerings are
designed to keep our customers’ equipment up and running efficiently while lowering the cost of ownership to
enhance their bottom line.
Terex also invites our friends from the press to stop by our stand. In addition to new equipment and
customer support hubs, we’ve included a dedicated Press Center on our booth with meeting rooms where you
will be able to schedule meetings with Terex team members, conduct interviews, or just take a break and
access our microsite and press materials via wi-fi while enjoying a beverage and snack.
Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP): Genie® branded products, manufactured by Terex AWP, will be “taking you higher” at
CONEXPO 2014 by enabling customers to reach new heights. The equipment displays will
include innovative products such as the Genie SX-180 telescopic boom, the Genie GS™-
4069 bi-energy hybrid scissor lift, the Genie GTH™-1544 telehandler and more.
Now in production, the Genie SX-180 boom is an engineering spectacle. It has a
platform height of 180 feet and can be driven at full height. The stowed length shrinks it
down to a mere 47 feet and the retracted width to 98 inches making it transportable without
special over-width permits. The lift capacity is an impressive 750 lbs. The boom is suited
for applications in the oil and gas industries, commercial construction, industrial
construction and maintenance, wind farm applications, power stations and utilities and large
metropolitan cities that require work at height.
The new Genie GS-4069 bi-energy hybrid scissor lift will also be on display. As part of
the new Genie BE69 hybrid scissor lift series, it features two selectable operating modes to
meet the needs of both outdoor jobsites with no onsite power, and indoor jobsites with noise
and emission sensitive environments. Also on display will be three rough terrain Genie
telehandlers, among other products.
Terex CrAneS: One Terex Crane that will have people talking about is the Superlift 3800 crawler crane which will be
exhibited in an even larger configuration than at Bauma. According to Terex, the new Superlift has been
designed to redefine performance in the 650 t capacity class and is a more than worthy successor to the highly
regarded CC 2800-1.
Requiring up to 30 per cent less counterweight for long boom erection and complete with new-style cabin
and Terex® fall protection system, the Superlift has a maximum lift capacity of 650 t at 12 m and a maximum
hook height of 190 m. Maximum load moment is 8426 mt. All the crane’s components weigh less than 40 t and
are below 3 m in width and height to facilitate ease of transportation.
Visitors wanting to see something brand new at CONEXPO will not be disappointed. No less than two
Terex cranes will be making their debut: a new, mid-size all terrain crane
which specifically addresses the needs of the North American market; a
new and a class-defining truck mounted crane. All cranes are designed
with customer needs in mind and will help them to deliver success.

Manitowoc’s Grove brand has been apartner to China’s largest open-pitcoal mine, Heidaigou, since it openedin 1991. Over the course of that 22-yearpartnership the company has supplieda range of cranes to help the mine op-erate to optimal production. The firstcranes Grove supplied are still at workat the facility, while the latest two arrivedearlier this year — a 60 t RT765E-2 anda range-topping 135 t RT9150E, bothfrom the rough-terrain crane line.
In recent years the size and number of cranes supplied to the facility has grown. That’s because in 2004, the Chinese government began a program to close unsafemines. While making the industry much safer, the initiative also reduced coal outputby 40 percent in its early days. To make up for this shortfall, Heidaigou and other largegovernment-approved mines were asked to increase productivity.
Heidaigou’s output has increased significantly since the government shutdowns, growing from 25 million t in 2006 to over 31 million t in 2011. Handling this increasedoutput requires larger equipment, including cranes, so the Heidaigou fleet now com-prises nine Grove cranes. As well as the new RT9150E and RT765E-2, the fleet in-cludes three 120 t RT9130E cranes plus two 80 t RT990 cranes which the facilitypurchased in 1991 and which are still working productively today. In addition to theseRT cranes, two 300 t GMK6300 all-terrain cranes also operate at the mine.
The Heidaigou mine spans over 42 sq. km and is located between Inner Mongolia,Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. It is state-owned and part of Inner Mongolia JungarEnergy Co. Ltd (Shenhua Group) — the world’s largest exporter of coal.
The Heidaigou pit has over a thousand pieces of equipment in operation, wortharound $650 million, including the largest dragline in Asia, haul trucks with capacitiesof over 320 t and a shovel with a capacity of over 60 m3. Its equipment maintenancecenter is vital in keeping this large array of hardware and equipment running. It’s alsowhere the Grove cranes are put to work, handling maintenance and repair work. Witha mine of this size the maintenance center is equally large, keeping 2,200 people em-ployed day in and day out.
The company is looking forward to its new RT9150E matching the long-workinglives achieved by the RT990 units. In addition to its huge 135 t capacity, the RT9150Ehas an impressive 60 m main boom. The boom has patented TWIN-LOCK pinningwhich offers a lighter design for greater strength. Maximum reach with jib extensionsfor the crane is 95 m.
In addition to durable, high performance equipment, Jianduo also highlights thestrong relationship between his company and Manitowoc, including the support avail-able through Manitowoc Crane Care and its offices across China.

Transport is critical to any market, and to help with North American road laws, noneof the counterweights on the ATC-3210 are more than 22,000 lbs. (9 979 kg) and canbe grouped together with other components to maximize loads. The ATC-3210 withmaximum counterweight, rigging, matting, and fly extensions can move in just threetruckloads. At just under 145,000 lbs. (65 770.9 kg) the ATC-3210 can transport in athree-axle dolly configuration with a three-piece hydraulic fly, auxiliary lifting sheave, hook block and ball and main and auxiliary winches. None of the axles exceed 20,000lbs (9 071.8 kg), and none of the three truck loads exceed 45,000 lbs (20 412 kg).
The ATC-3210 moves itself effortlessly as well—on or off the jobsite. A CumminsEPA 2013 compliant engine provides ample power to give this AT the best highwayspeeds on the market. To slow this crane, it’s equipped with anti-lock (ABS) discbrakes, transmission intarder, and true engine compression brakes that meet the strin-gent SAE braking codes. Emergency steering, cruise control and traction control arestandard, as are extra steering cylinders for maneuvering in difficult terrain. The trac-tion control has a mud and snow setting to allow more slip when needed. Also availableare inter-axle and cross-axle differential locking. Putting this control on the ground aremilitary-grade, two-piece aluminum wheels that require no special tools to service inthe field. And keeping it all comfortable is Link-Belt’s proven Hydrogas suspensionsystem.
Once on the jobsite, the ATC-3210, with full ANSI B 30.5 certification, is the stoutestAT in its class. The six-section boom is fabricated from ultra-high-strength steel in Link-Belt’s own facility. The two-plate design of each section has multiple longitudinal bendsfor superior strength. Teflon inserts keep the boom lubed and are universal for all boomsections. Seven boom modes maximize capacities by varying the extension of thesections.
Unlike other manufacturer’s ATs, the ATC-3210 utilizes the ATC-3275 concept ofupper engine mounted transversely to allow maximum space for the stowable fly. A12-ft (3.7-m) heavy-lift fly has two-line, one-load lift procedures making it perfect fortilt-up work. An optional three-piece bi-fold fly hydraulically offsets from 2 to 45 de-grees. A manual, four-position offset is available as well.
A new lighting package will be unveiled with the ATC-3210. Engine and storagecompartments will be illuminated now with internal LED lighting. The lights found onthe front of the operators cab and at the outriggers have been replaced with high in-tensity LED lights and these are also in areas for fuel fills, ground control stations foroutriggers and suspension and other various locations throughout the crane.

Six Grove GMK6400s will soon be at work in France. A steady flow of the 400 t ca-pacity all-terrain crane has arrived in the country since August 2012. Mediaco, thelargest crane rental company in France, is the latest to add the award-winningGMK6400 to its fleet.
The GMK6400 is the strongest six-axle crane in the world and, despite its size, easily meets road permit laws in France. Both of which are key reasons why the craneis proving so popular across the country.
All of the GMK6400s in France are owned by crane rental companies. The cranesalready in the country are used for general construction work. In particular, expansionand maintenance work at refineries and manufacturing plants are among their mainactivities. The cranes are located across the country in Nantes, Lyon and Le Havre.
The three GMK6400s going to Mediaco will join the company’s huge fleet of morethan 700 cranes, and be based in Paris, Nantes and Marseilles.
The first unit to arrive in France was delivered to AltéAD, a lifting and industrialplant service specialist, in August 2012 and has been in almost constant use sincethen. A recent job saw the crane perform a variety of heavy lifts at the expansion of aLouis Vuitton factory.
The other GMK6400s in France are owned by rental companies SMMI and Fos-elev, based in Lyon and Le Havre respectively.
Outside of France, GMK6400s can now be found working in Germany, Switzer-land, the Netherlands, the U.S., and as far away as Curacao and New Zealand.
Grove’s GMK6400 recently earned Manitowoc the “Innovation Manufacturer”award from Europe’s leading lifting and transportation trade association, the EuropeanAssociation of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes. The GMK6400 featuresa range of unique design elements including a single engine concept, self-riggingMegaWingLift and the MegaDrive hydrostatic drive system.

Potain’s NEW Self-Erecting TowerCrane Makes Its Mark in Europe
Manitowoc’s newest self-erectingtower crane, the Potain Igo M 14,made a splash at Batimat 2013 inParis, France. The 1.8 t capacitycrane took center stage on the com-pany’s booth and was praised for itsflexible configurations and class-leading 19 m lifting height. Batimat isthis year’s largest construction equip-ment trade show in France and tookplace November 4 through 8.
The Igo M 14 was first introducedat bauma 2013 in Germany. Sincethen it has proved very popular at small-scale job sites, particularly in France, asThibaut Le Besnerais, global product director at Potain, explains:
“The Igo M 14 is the most user-friendly, compact and versatile self-erecting cranewe’ve ever made,” he says. “It offers more lifting height than any other crane in themarket and 3 m more than our previous model. The crane gives owners theopportunity to work at more projects. There is strong demand for the crane in Francewith several units already ordered, and we expect the population of Igo M 14s inEurope to continue to increase over the coming months.”
Potain’s Igo M 14 offers a maximum jib radius of 22 m and can lift 0.6 t at jib end.The crane can lift its maximum capacity of 1.8 t out to 9 m.
The Igo M 14 has a number of features designed to make it one of the easiestcranes to erect. It has a remote start generator and permanent ballasts that eliminateset-up hassles, while hydraulic leveling ensures the crane is operating on a horizontallevel, even when used on uneven ground.
Compact size is another key focus area for the Igo M 14. The crane has a footprintof just 4 m x 4 m and two counterweight positions – one closer to the mast thatreduces swing radius to just 2 m, and one further from the mast to give better liftingcapabilities. In both the short and full radius configurations, the Igo M 14 has 5.1 t ofcounterweight.
Manitowoc is offering two versions of the Igo M 14 – the standard crane plus anadjusted roadable version that is capable of being towed behind a 7.5 t truck.
The roadable version of the Igo M 14 will particularly appeal to customers inGermany, where no special license (other than a standard car driving license) isrequired to drive vehicles of up to 7.5 t.
In addition, the regular Igo M 14 offers two options for travel. For movement aroundsite, and carrying all equipment, the Igo M 14 can move at speeds of up to 25 km/h.For movement on the highway, the crane can be configured to travel at speeds of upto 80 km/h.

German crane operator Rachinger hascompleted its first job using its newGrove GMK5220 all-terrain crane. The220 t capacity crane, which arrived inJune, built a new warehouse in Herriedonfor German toymaker Playmobil.
The GMK5220 is the highest capacitycrane in Rachinger’s 12-unit fleet, takingthe title from a fellow Grove crane, the100 t capacity GMK5100. Rachingeradded the new GMK5220 to its fleetbecause it offers exceptionalperformance and easily conforms to allGerman roading regulations, as ownerReinhold Rachinger explains:
“A new crane is a big investment sowe research carefully to ensure wechoose the right one,” he says. “TheGMK5220 was the front runner becauseit is fully-equipped for our needs and all ofits features, especially the uniquealuminum wheel rims that only Grove offers, keep the crane within the legal weightlimits of Germany’s roads. This is crucial for us.”
The GMK5220’s first job put its power and agility to the test expandingPlaymobil’s storage facility. The crane erected pre-cast concrete structures in loadsof up to 29 t at a 17 m radius. The crane’s load control and road handling capabilitieswere praised by Rachinger’s operators.
“This job demonstrated the precise load-handling skills of the GMK5220,” sayscrane driver Klaus Maag. “The crane is really responsive; you feel the quality as soonas you step on the pedal. Thanks to the special features of the Allison transmission
system and Megatrak suspension system, road handling is never an issue.”Grove’s GMK5220 is a five-axle, all-
terrain crane with a 68 m boom, which canbe extended to 105 m with a jib.Established in 1990, family owned

TEREX® AC 700 All Terrain Crane Works at the PAnTHÉOn: resting Place to Honor France’s Greatest Citizens
®
UpdatedDaily
Crane Carrier Handbook 35 34 Crane Carrier Handbook
PArIS, FrAnCe, December, 2013 – “Tothe great men of this Country, in grati-tude” states the inscription on the mas-sive plinth of the Panthéon. In order torejuvenate this most venerable monu-ment, French construction group Ponti-celli deployed its Terex® AC 700 all terraincrane to help raise a complex scaffoldingstructure.
Since 1791, the Panthéon is the secular
temple of the French Republic, the resting
place of citizens venerated by the Nation.
Buried within the Panthéon are writers:
Rousseau, Voltaire, and Victor Hugo; scien-
tists: Pierre and Marie Curie; and heroes like
Jean Moulin among other illustrious names.
The last to be inhumed was Alexandre
Dumas whose ashes were transferred there
in 2002. Erected between 1758 and 1790 by
the French architect Soufflot on the hill known
as the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, the neo-
classical structure was meant to be a church
dedicated to the patron saint of Paris. The onslaught of the French revolution in 1789
changed the course of history: Sainte-Geneviève lost her religious vocation and in-
stead was transformed into the temple of French secularism. Over 700,000 visitors
come to this emblematic bastion of national memory each year.
With the passing of the years, the pressure on its arches, water seepage caused
by leaky joints and the corrosion of swelling metal components which have cracked
open surrounding stone has compromised the stability of the structure. That is why
the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, the main caretaker for the national monument
system, has now undertaken a massive restoration project. The first phase of this
restoration work will last until 2015, starting with the upper part of the structure at 82
meters high (nearly 270 feet). There is one major challenge: the monument has to
remain open to the public while restoration takes place.
Only four weeks were needed to lift the individual structures into their desired po-
sitions. The largest of these structural elements were 20 x 20 meters in size, weighed
42 tonnes, and had to be hoisted to a height of 40 meters. To cope with different lift
profiles, the team at Ponticelli used the 42 m luffing jib and worked with varied main
boom extensions and angles.
As the crane was working all around the Pantheon, the crane operator had to
reposition it for every lift. Before each lift, the components of the enormous reinforced
structure were laid out on the ground and rigged for the lifts.

Eisele AG Receives Two Terex® AC140Compact All Terrain Cranes and a Terex®
Challenger 3180 All Terrain Crane
®
ZWeIBrÜCKen, December 17th, 2013 – Maintal-based crane service provider
Eisele AG took delivery of two Terex® AC 140 Compact and one Challenger 3180 all
terrain cranes in Zweibrücken in November. On the reasons why Eisele AG chose
these cranes, Rocco Schimmel, Engineer consultant at Eisele, commented: “The AC
140 is the most compact 5-axle crane out there. This comes in real handy when you
have precious little space available at your job site. This is why we will be using these
two cranes mostly for erecting tower cranes and carrying out demolition and industrial
assembly work.”
Regarding the Terex Challenger 3180 all terrain crane, Schimmel said, “In this
case, the decisive factor in the company’s purchase decision was the combination of
a 50-meter-long main boom with a compact three-axle chassis. This makes the Chal-
lenger the perfect option for lighter assembly projects relatively close to our location.
It’s also the perfect substitute for a larger 80-tonne crane whenever we have projects
for which we just need the extra boom length, and not the actual extra lifting capacity.”
The Terex® AC 140 Compact All Terrain CraneThanks to its compact design, the 5-axle Terex® AC 140 Compact all terrain crane
covers a greater range of applications than any other crane in the 140-tonne lifting
capacity category. Its carrier length of 11.17 meters and carrier width of 2.75 meters
would typically be found in 5-axle cranes with lifting capacities of 100 to 120 tonnes
instead. In other words, the Terex AC 140 Compact crane is considerably more com-
pact than other cranes with lifting capacities of 130 to 160 tonnes.
The Terex® Challenger 3180 All Terrain CraneWith a 50-meter (164-ft) main boom combined with a 16-meter (52.5-ft) extension,
the Terex® Challenger 3180 all terrain crane provides the longest system length in
the 60-tonne (66.1 US-t) capacity class. The crane includes optional all-wheel steer-
ing with a 6x6x6 drivetrain configuration and 495/95R25 tires.
