About the wildebeests migration

The short rains begin around early November in many parts of Northern Tanzania and

Ngorongoro at large. A little after this, in late November and December, the herds of the

wildebeest migration arrives on the short-grass plains of the Serengeti. These are south and east

of Seronera, around Ndutu and include the north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Dispersed across these plains, wildebeest and zebra are everywhere – feeding on the fresh,

nutritious grasses. They stay here through January, February and March, with most

wildebeest calves born in a short window around February. Gradually they spread west across

these plains, then around April they start their great migration north.

Accommodations

Ngorongoro Farm House

Ngorongoro Farm House is a small, exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano. It nestles in a

500 acre coffee farm, located just 4 km from the Loduare entrance gate to the Ngorongoro

Conservation Area.

Ang’ata Camp Ndutu

Ang'ata Camp Ndutu is located in the Ndutu area of Serengeti Southwest in northern Tanzania.

Situated in one of the private campsites in the area around the lake, this camp operates December

to March, when the migration should be within range and in calf.

The camp itself is the upper-mid-range class, newly opened this year. It also has a nice tented

mess area and several large guest tents with wooden floors and private bathrooms.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1 : After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Farm House close to Ngorongoro gate. Note:

Today is just a drive from Arusha to the lodge for overnight. You will have stops here and there

to admire the scenery which will keep unfolding before you!(Optional visit to Lake Manyara

National Park: For additional cost of US$ 100 @). Arrive to the Lodge relax in the gardens or

explore the local area. Walking activities available here booked and paid direct.

Day 2: After an early breakfast, board your private

car again and head to the Ngorongoro crater, descend

down for a full day game drive. Picnic lunch in the

crater, afternoon proceed to the highlands out to the

plains of the Serengeti, Ndutu area arriving for dinner

at the camp. Overnight at Ang'ata Camp

Day 3: Morning and afternoon game drives in Ndutu

area. Overnight at Ang'ata Camp

Day 4: After breakfast drive to the central Serengeti for a full day game drive. Afternoon drive

back to Ndutu for Dinner and Overnight at Ang'ata Camp

Day 5: After an early breakfast, drive out through the Olduvai Gorge Museum and then through

Ngorongoro to Arusha for lunch in town and a day room at KIA Lodge. Transfer to the airport

for your flight back home
