PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Well , Changeover has been and gone and now the work begins! Hopefully everyone enjoyed the evening as much as Wendy and I.
It was great to have DG Anthony Ohlsen present, especially since he will be back on the 18th of this month.
Thank you to all the Rotarians who helped to make the evening such a success. Special thanks to Sue Watts and Chris Gunn for their support.
I’d also like to thank Janelle Phillips for sharing her talent with us. Janelle’s ability with the flute was something to be envied.
I am greatly looking forward to working with my new Board . I think we are an enthusiastic group who will be an inspiration.
This week, we have our fireside meetings. I am looking forward to hearing the ideas that emerge from these meetings.
Don’t forget that July 14th is the Rotaract Changeover night. It would be great if as many Rotarians as possible support Kelsea and her fellow Rotaractors.
Finally, we wish Wendy and Robin a wonderful trip away and we look forward to hearing a detailed report on their return.

Barbara Pipkorn - Interplast
I am writing on behalf of the Interplast committee or Rotary District 9780.
We are searching for a Rotarian from our District to be an observer on an Interplast program. Our committee has been successful in raising enough funds over the last two years to sponsor not only an observer, but also to fund a program - to the Solomon's next month.
The Position of Rotary Observer involves visiting a Pacific Island with an Interplast team for a week during a program, and observing how the team not only does compassionate surgery, but teaches surgical, anaesthetic, nursing etc skills to the local team.
The successful applicant will be expected to promote Interplast within the District on their return. Information is available from me, from the web or from previous successful observers throughout the District;
Alan Richardson (The Rotary Club of Mount Gambier: Rabaul 1999),
PDG Kel Hobby (Ballarat West, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan 2004)
Amanda Hough (Torquay Balikpapan 2007),
Kathryn O’Connor (Belmont, Tonga 2012),
John Richmond (Ballarat West, Fiji 2014),
Barbara Pipkorn, Ballarat South, Solomon's 2016).
The guidelines and application form are attached in email. Could you please bring this marvellous opportunity to the attention of your members?
