PRODUCT APPLICATION
The L-847 Circuit Selector Switch is designed toswitch the
output of a 6.6 or 20A constant current
regulator into one or more series lighting loops.Control can be
from the CSS (local) or from acontrol and monitoring system
(remote). Typicalapplications include:
Switching of PAPI, VASIS, and approach circuitsfrom one approach
end to the opposite end.Reduces number of regulators required in
half.
Provides individual control of multiple smallcircuits from a
single regulator (ie. taxiways).Allows standardization of regulator
sizes while stillproviding individual circuit control.
Control of stopbars, lead-on lights and directional
taxiway centerlines as part of a Surface Movementand Guidance
Control System (SMGCS).
FEATURES
5000V rated for use with 6.6A or 20A regulators.
Input voltage 100 to 240V, 50 / 60Hz, 120VA.
All versions are NEMA 4 rated and are suitablefor indoor or
outdoor installation. Operating range-40oC to +55oC, 0 to 100%
relative humidity, and0 to 3000m altitude.
The circuit selector can be mounted directly on an
existing wall, on unistrut, on frangible couplings(for field
mounting next to the taxiways), orsupported on rigid conduit.
High voltage vacuum switch technology providesmaintenance free
operation. Make before breakoperation ensures reliable operation
with anymake of CCR. Vacuum switches are rated 65A.
Reverse L-847 Option allows a single load tobe powered from
different regulators providingbackup operation without rewiring the
field circuit.
No calibration or adjustments required.
All high voltage connections are fully guarded forpersonnel
safety. Enclosure can be padlocked toprevent access by unauthorized
personnel.
A safety interlock (optional) ensures power isdisconnected when
the door is opened. Theinterlock is designed to wire into the CCR
controlcircuit to automatically trip the CCR.
Each circuit selector can be individually confi guredto fail on
or off upon failure of the control system.
A latching failsafe option provides the ability foreach circuit
selector to remain in its last state uponfailure of the control
system. This option is ideally
suited for SMGCS, stopbar, or taxiway routingapplications using
field mounted circuit selectors.

MONITORING OPTIONS
Monitoring presence of output current in eachseries loop for On
indication to control system.
Monitoring of each local control switch remoteposition, input
power available and door opensignals for indication to the control
system. Thisinformation can provide feedback to the towerwhen the
circuit selectors are out-of-service or inlocal control from the
vault.
