Begins at about age 18 months; endsat about age 3

Demands are now being placed on thechild to conform!Especially with toilet training.

life which were the most formative forpersonality.Not a psychosexual stage.No erogenous zone: sexual instinct is

dormant.Time for:Learningdeveloping same sex relationships

engaging in sports or other activities

Begins with the onset of puberty; laststhroughout adulthood unless/untilsenility sets in.

Erogenous zone is again the genitals,but now the energy is directed atothers.

Challenge is to find a socially

acceptable means of reducing tensionor of reaching equilibrium: aheterosexual relationship.

Sublimation is common if outlet is notfound.
