zero after dividing.• 36 ÷ 6 = 6

• Prime Number– A whole number greater than one with only two factors-

itself and one.• 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 57, 59, …

• Composite Number– A whole number greater than one that has more than two

factors• 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, …

• Prime Factorization– Writing a number as the product of its prime factors

• 24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3

Divisibility Rules! Divisibility Rules

A number is divisible by:

2 If the last digit ends in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 (any even number)

3 If the sums of the digits is divisible by 3 (may be even or odd)

4 If the last two digits are divisible by 4 (only an even number)

5 If the last digit ends in 0 or 5 (any number ending in 5 or 0)

6 If the number is divisible by 2 and 3 (only an even number)

9 If the sum of the digits is divisible by 9 (may be even or odd)

10 If the last digit ends with a 0 (only ends in 0)
