TULSA, Oklahoma - On October 3, 7:00 PM, Ponyboy Curtis a
the greasers (a greaser is a person that is like a hood poorer
th
middle class and works on cars) get into a rumble with the Socs
the ric
kids that live on the west side of Tulsa spoiled by parents).
The grease
and the socs never got along, but no one saw this coming.
There are lots of reasons why the socs and the greasers got
into
rumble. Curtis liked Cherry Valance, one of the socs girlfriend.
Also, wh
Bob Sheldon (a soc) was drowning Curtis at a fountain, Johnny
Cade kil
Sheldon with a knife. This inflicted an even bigger rivalry and
a stron
hate for each other. This caused them to have a rumble, to
settle the w
between the two gangs.
During the rumble, the greasers were missing one of their
fello
members, Cade. The socs were well-equipped with troops. Tim
Shepa
and the Brumly boys accompanied the greasers in the rumble.

Cade, Curtis, and Dallas Winston were at an abandoned church
Windrixville, the church they were staying at caught on fire.

Now, there were people inside, besides the three greasers. The
three wetrying their best to get everyone to safety, and Winston
and Cade got h
in the process. Curtis was the only one with no major injuries,
except f
maybe going unconscious after Winston slapped his back in effort
to p
out the fire on it. Winston got a burnt arm and was supposed to
stay cal
for 3 days, but he arrived at the rumble anyway. Cade, though,
broke
back because of a falling piece of timber from the roof. He also
had ve
severe wounds from burns. He was hospitalized and could not show
up
the rumble.
The results of the rumble? The greasers won after the socs
fleaway. They traveled to the hospital in triumph to go visit Cade,
who di
after they told him the news of the victory.
