Getting started

Making the most out of your new super account and benefiting from all of the services on offer is easy! Follow these three simple steps and get yourself started today and set up for a better tomorrow.

Step 1: Review your Welcome StatementTo acknowledge your new membership, we have sent you a Welcome Statement, which contains your personal account details and information about your new ING super account. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with your new account and keep this document handy, in case you need to contact us at any time.

You will be sent a new Member Card with your unique Online User ID (shortly after receiving this Welcome Kit) which will enable you to securely access your new account. For security purposes, your password will be sent separately.

Step 2: Go online to the Member Super CentreThe easiest way to get started is by accessing our innovative online Member Super Centre at www.ing.com.au/member

In the secure area of the Member Super Centre, you can access exclusive member banking, lifestyle and entertainment offers, view your plan summary, change your details, complete forms, switch between investment funds*, view your insurance details, check transactions and most importantly, watch your super grow!

Use the CD contained with this kit to access the Member Super Centre online, or learn more by utilising the other tools available on the CD.

Your employer will most likely have chosen a default investment strategy for your plan. The ‘default’ investment strategy selected has been chosen to reflect the overall super needs of all employees in your plan. Alternatively, if your employer has not made a selection, the Trustee’s ‘default’ investment strategy will apply.

As a member you have the flexibility to switch from the default investment strategy* and choose your own personal investment strategy, as your circumstances and needs change throughout your life. ING gives access to a wide range of more than 50 investment funds, covering a variety of risk and return profiles.

Knowing your ‘investor profile’ may assist you in choosing the right strategy for your super, as it takes into account your attitude to investment risk and your investment timeframe.

By completing the self assessment questionnaire available in the Investment Choice Guide, which forms a part of the PDS, or online at the Member Super Centre at www.ing.com.au/member, you will arrive at an investor profile which may be suitable for your super investment strategy. Determining the profile which generally reflects your investment goals and financial attitudes will assist you in choosing the investment fund(s) most suited to you. Alternatively, speak to your financial adviser.

Unlimited switchingA Switching Fee† is not charged for switching between investment funds and there is no limit to how often you can switch! There is a minimum of $250 per switch.

Access to comprehensive insurance cover for death, disablement and income protection

ING gives you access to a choice of insurance cover, including Death Only Cover, Death and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) Cover and Group Salary Continuance (GSC) Cover.

Your employer’s plan may have automatic acceptance of insurance cover in place that provides a maximum amount of cover without you needing to provide evidence of good health. If you want to know more about the insurance cover offered, please refer to your Welcome Statement or to the Insurance Guide(s), which form a part of the PDS.

The benefits of having insurance through your super plan can include:

3 a lower premium – as you may have access to group premium rates rather than individual rates

3 premiums are paid from your super account, rather than your income

3 premiums are generally tax deductible

3 options to increase your cover to suit your changing circumstances (subject to approval).

Insurance options3 Death Only Cover, or

3 Death and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) Cover, and/or

3 Group Salary Continuance (GSC) Cover.

TPD only cover is not available.

Your employer plan is provided to you at a very competitive price.

This is due to the pooling of your super together with other employees, resulting in group based rates. These rates are also made possible by ING’s size, scale and expertise in employer super.

To find out just how competitive ING is, please check your Member Welcome Statement, or go online and login

to the secure area of the Member Super Centre at www.ing.com.au/member

As a member, you can invite members of your family to join the personal division of your ING employer super plan, so they can benefit as well.

Family members can now join and receive many of the benefits that you currently enjoy. Depending on your plan arrangements, they may also receive the same fee discounts applicable to you. Family members may also apply for Death Only or Death and TPD insurance cover with ING Life Limited.

Hassle free rollover assistance

If you have had more than one job, chances are you have more than one super fund.

To make your super savings work harder for you, it’s time to consider rolling over any money you may have with other funds!

There are benefits to be had by keeping all of your super in one account. Just think about the money you will save by paying only one set of fees, not to mention the time (and filing space) you can save by having only one set of paperwork to manage.

If you know the details of your old super accounts, it’s easy to roll them over into your new ING account. Simply complete a Rollover form for each of your old funds and we’ll do the rest.

If you’re not sure where all of your old super has gone, it’s easy to find it again by using the Lost Super tool available at www.ing.com.au/member

If you have more than one fund to rollover, don’t worry – simply photocopy the form before you complete it and return all completed forms to us at the one time.

No Transfer FeesNo Transfer Fees apply when you transfer or rollover amounts from other super funds into your ING account. Another good reason to rollover your super!

Compulsory super alone is unlikely to provide you with a comfortable retirement.

According to experts at the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia*, you should consider saving at least 3-6% of your salary, on top of the 9% compulsory super amounts, for 40 years, to achieve a comfortable retirement income.

Contribute extra to superOne way to give your retirement savings a boost is through making extra contributions.

Salary sacrifice (pre-tax) contributions – an agreement between you and your employer to forgo part of your future salary, which your employer then contributes into your super account as an employer contribution.

Voluntary (after-tax) contributions – after-tax contributions are those you make into your super account from income that has already had income tax applied to it.

ING makes it possible for you to make after-tax contributions to your super account with a range of convenient online payment methods, including BPAY, Internet banking (EFT), direct debit or cheque. To find out more, simply refer to the CD contained with this kit.

* www.superannuation.asn.au

Convenient online transacting and contribution options such as BPAY

To help you decide if it’s better to make pre-tax or after-tax contributions to your super see our ‘Grow your super’ tutorial at the Member Super Centre.

As you approach retirement, it is important to seek financial advice to ensure you’ve got everything in order for this next exciting phase in your life.

It’s a big life change, so there’s a lot to consider and discuss with your financial adviser, including your future financial needs, the most effective way to structure your investments inside and outside superannuation, and the most appropriate retirement income stream for you.

To find out more about ING’s OneAnswer Pension option, please refer to your CD, or visit the Member Super Centre at www.ing.com.au/member

Keep many of your benefits when you change jobs

There may come a time when you’ll want to change jobs, when you do, you can continue and benefit from your ING super account.

When you leave your employer (for any reason other than retirement, death or disablement) you’ll be automatically transferred into the personal division of ING employer super*. By keeping your ING account, you’ll retain many of the benefits you enjoyed as a member of your employer’s plan.

When we’re notified by your employer that you’ve left their employment, we’ll send you a Changing Jobs Kit, which will walk you through the simple steps to continue to grow your super with ING.

Continue making contributions to your ING account. All you need to do is take the Fund Nomination Form (included in your Changing Jobs Kit or from the Member Super Centre at www.ing.com.au/member) with you to your new employer. You can also complete Part B of the Standard Choice form which your new employer may provide.

Straightforward transfer to pension option when you retire

* Account balance conditions may apply.
