Overall Considerations

When choosing the fuse equipment required, keep in mind the following points:

■

Fuse units do not include mounting hardware.

■

Disconnect mountings are supplied with disconnect live parts and end fittings.

■

Non-disconnect mountings are sup-plied with non-disconnect live parts and end fittings are not required.

■

Disconnect live parts are supplied with end fittings.

■

End fittings are for disconnect applications only and can be ordered separately without the rest of the live parts.

Power Fuse Perspective

Figure 2-2

provides a basic view of how medium voltage current limiting and expulsion fuses are categorized. Starting at the top of the triangle from medium voltage and working down the triangle on either the current limit-ing side or the expulsion side, how the different types of fuses are classed, applied and rated becomes apparent.

Catalog Numbering System

Easy to use, easy to order!

The Cutler-Hammer fuse catalog num-bering system makes it easy to order the right fuse. The catalog numbers are easy to remember, unique to each fuse, and are broken down in three descriptive segments: Fuse Type, Voltage Rating and Current Rating.

The catalog numbers can be entered directly and easily.

No change in order processing will occur if you use either a style number or its corresponding catalog number. You will get the same fuse.
