into the building by a school staff
member. The camera and door bell
are located to the right of the main
doors. All visitors will still be re-
quired to check in at the front office
and show identification. This new
system will allow all of the outside
doors to be locked during the
school day.

We are very fortunate to have such
an amazing staff at Erie Middle
School. I have the opportunity to see
adults going above and beyond tosupport students academically,
so-
cially, and emotionally everyday.
There are two recognition programsavailable that allow parents
to nomi-
nate teachers whom they feel are de-serving. I wanted to make
sure that
you have the following information:1) The Jared Polis
Foundation
sponsors a recognition pro-
gram.They will award 8 Coloradopublic school teachers with
JPFTeacher Recognition Awards, whichinclude a $1,000
discretionaryaward for the teacher and a $1,500
teacher-
directed school grant. Prin-cipals, school employees,
students,parents and teacher colleagues cannominate a teacher. The
nominationdeadline is April 5th. To learn moreplease
