Across the globe, the specialty-coffee industry continues its vigorous growth. Top-end cafés and exceptional baristas now call nearly every city, town, and burg home. No matter where one travels today, waiting just around the next corner are great local shops, exciting new coffees, and of course, Barista Magazine.
As the leading trade journal for coffee professionals, Barista
Magazine’s reach and readership has never been greater. Just as the coffee industry has gone through huge changes in recent years, so too has media. In addition to printing the most-beloved magazine in the industry, we at Barista Magazine have also built an unrivaled social media presence where we communicate directly with our readers on a daily basis via Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. And last year we launched an app featuring free access to every issue on tablets and smartphones worldwide. We also hired a dedicated online editor, who creates and curates daily content for our website, baristamagazine.com.
We invite you to join us as we work together, as advertisers and advocates, customers and creators, to continue to build one of the world’s most dynamic industries.

community event supportIn 2o17, we began advertising our willingness to support any and all coffee community gatherings—i.e. latte art throwdowns, education summits and forums, and all inclusive coffee professional assemblies—with Barista Magazine merchandise and prizes, as well as boxes of the current issue of Barista Magazine.
The response has been overwhelming: Since launching this program in mid-2o17, we have been contacted by and sent magazines and merchandise to more than 18o community events, primarily in the United States.
For our advertisers, this means underserved or smaller communities of coffee professionals are being exposed to your ads and products in the copies of Barista Magazine that are being distributed.

BARISTA MAGAZINE’S PRESENCE ONLINE CONTINUES TO GROW YEAR AFTER YEAR, WITH HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF UNIQUE VISITS TO OUR DYNAMIC, INTERACTIVE WEBSITE, WHICH FEATURES ORIGINAL CONTENT 6 DAYS A WEEK; AND OUR IMPRESSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA NUMBERS.
As our Instagram following climbs closer to 12o,ooo people, we are continuing to invest in the production of our own online content.
Since its debut in 2oo7, the Barista Magazine blog has been a popular
destination for online coverage of news, events, and the specialty-coffee community. With our longtime Online Editor, Ashley Rodriguez, we proudly feature original articles about the latest news and trends in specialty coffee six days per week.
With the addition of Ashley as Barista Magazine’s Online Editor, our online increases every day, and opportunities for engaging with our audience for our advertisers abound. We welcome you to see what’s new with Barista Magazine Online on a daily basis.
IN 2o16, BARISTA MAGAZINE BECAME THE FIRST SPECIALTY-COFFEE PUBLICATION WITH ITS OWN DEDICATED APP. The Barista Magazine App allows readers to download more than four years’ worth of issues to their phone or tablet. Each downloaded issue has all of the high-quality content that our print magazine has, but also offers even more.
Every link is live, including urls on ads. With the touch of a finger, readers go from your ad directly to your website, or if it features a phone number, they can even call you straight from your ad.
The Barista Magazine App is available on iTunes, GooglePlay, and in the Amazon store. In our effort to keep education and community within reach of coffee professionals globally, we’ve made a conscious decision to keep the app, and our entire library of issues, available for free.

Barista Magazine’s readers are extremely active on social media, so that means we are, too. With just under 12o,ooo Instagram followers, we lead all other coffee media on this fastest growing of social media platforms. And as they have been from the start, our Facebook and Twitter accounts are among the most well-followed throughout the coffee industry.
We’ve found social media to be a terrific way to reach and interact with our audience throughout the year on a daily basis. In fact, Barista Magazine’s engagement with our social media followers is so strong we are regularly sought for interviews about how to succeed on social media as a small business.
THE OFFICIAL WBC EVENT PROGRAM
Since 2oo8, Barista Magazine has been contracted by the World Barista Championship and World Coffee Events to produce the official event program for the annual global competition. The WBC program, which includes pertinent schedule details, prize information, profiles of every national champion, and much more, is distributed throughout the event for free to all attendees.
Advertising space is available for the 2o18 WBC Amsterdam program—but space is limited, so reserve yours before it’s gone!

“Barista Magazine provides a space for all of us to enjoy the fruits of the coffee community and, like a neighborhood coffeehouse, helps to encourage, inspire, and hold us together as colleagues in coffee.”
Chris DeferioLouisville, Kentucky
I’ve been reading Barista Magazine now for I don’t even know how many years. Maybe it’s because I’m a new shop owner, or maybe because of the recent content, or maybe the stars are just aligning, but everything that is in it resonates like no other. Thanks for everything you do to put together such an amazing publication.

Barista Magazine’s online ad program is unique in that our ads never rotate— each advertiser owns the ad space 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on every page of Barista Magazine’s website and blog, for the month you purchase the ad. Most websites change the ads every time you hit refresh, resulting in minimal exposure for your ad.
Our system means that we have fewer ads to sell, meaning the mes-sage behind your ad will get more exposure than ever. We offer 7 banner ads (the boxes down the right side of every page), and one leaderboard (the horizontal bar at the top of the page), per month.
