Electronic SyllabusWAPA will be providing an e-syllabus in place of a paper syllabus. The link will be sent to your email address prior to the start of the conference. It will have all of the speaker presentations (power-point slides, outline, articles). Each attendee at registration check-in will receive a packet of information (schedule, raffle rules and events that you signed up for). The e-syllabus can be downloaded onto your laptop or ipad so that you can follow along during the presentations. The e-syllabus will be available online for 3 months after the conference. Watch for an email from WAPA with instruc-tions on how to view the e-syllabus online. There will be compli-mentary WiFi in the lecture halls.

ParkingDaily parking is included in your registration fee. Your discounted hotel booking at the Seattle Airport Marriott Hotel also includes your daily parking fee.

Automated Response SystemAn Automated Response System (ARS) will be used in both our main and concurrent lecture hall to promote interaction between you and the speaker. The hand-held remote will allow attendees to convey responses to questions asked by each speaker. Complete instructions will be available at the conference.

Pre-registration/Welcome ReceptionJoin us Friday evening April 27, between 7:00 pm–9:00 pm in the WAPA Welcome suite at the conference hotel. You can pre-register for the conference without any lines or just come by and enjoy meeting some of your fellow conference attendees over hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Just ask for the suite number at the hotel registration desk on your arrival.

Regular registration begins at 7:00 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018.

The Washington State Academy of Physician Assistants is proud to host its 29th Annual Primary Care Review and Update Conference at the Marriott Hotel near the Seattle Airport. We have decided to freshen up our conference with a new name, a new venue and some new ideas but you can expect to experience the same great quality WAPA has always offered. We know that all Physician Assistants need updated CME to help them continue to provide excellent patient care. We also understand the need

for Physician Assistants to review major medical core knowledge areas as they prepare to take the NCCPA Recertification Exam. Our goal is to help meet both of these needs, and to make your learning experience a pleasant one. Please join us at our 2018 Spring Conference for an outstanding opportunity to review and update your medical skills as well as enjoy the rare opportunity to network with fellow colleagues.

Refunds/CancellationsAn administrative fee of $75.00 is withheld from all refunds. No refunds will be made after the course has begun. Registration is limited to available space.

Concurrent LecturesConcurrent lectures are offered throughout this conference to provide you with medical education alternatives. Whether you have been to our conference before or attending for the first time, we are certain you will be completely satisfied with the vast variety of choices available. Many of these offerings will have a hands on workshop feel, without any extra fees.

Concurrent WorkshopsSimilar to concurrent lectures, the concurrent workshops are intended to provide conference attendees with medical educa-tion alternatives. The workshops will have limited enrollment to maximize the hands-on nature of the sessions. Please refer to the registration page for each required workshop fee.

NEW Training In Suicide Care WorkshopOn Sunday, April 29, we will be offering training in Suicide Care for Physicians (TSCP). This training provides an opportunity for you to complete your full 6 hour licensing obligation which promotes the physician’s leadership role in understanding and addressing this preventable cause of morbidity and mortality. The workshop targets general competence in suicide risk assessment, treatment and management and is based on existing practice guidelines which includes the SPRC Core Competencies in Suicide Risk Assessment and Management, the APA Practice Guideline for the Assessment and Treatment of Patients with Suicidal Behaviors (2003) and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention’s report, Suicide Care in Systems Framework (2011).

IMPORTANT: This curriculum has been approved by the Wash-ington State Department of Health to meet the requirement for training in suicide risk assessment, treatment and management for health care professionals.

Career Fair/MEDEX NW Informational SessionWAPA will be hosting a Career Fair as well as a MEDEX NW informational session at the conference hotel on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm. Local hospitals and health related organi-zations will have booths set up. Bring your CV to share if you are actively looking for a position OR if you are looking to hire a PA,
