Who Am I?(answer)

Whitney Marvels July is Social Wellness Month! Social wellness means nurturing yourself and your relationships. It means giving and receiv-ing social support - ensuring that you have friends and other people, including fami-ly, to turn to in times of need or crisis to give you a broad-er focus and positive self-image. Healthy relationships are a vital component of health. The health risks from being alone or isolated in one's life are comparable to the risks associated with cigarette smoking, blood pressure, and obesity.

Research shows that:

*People who have a strong social network tend to live longer.

*The heart and blood pres-sure of people with healthy relationships respond better to stress.

*Strong social networks are associated with a healthier endocrine system and healthier cardiovascu-lar functioning.

*Healthy social networks en-hance the immune system's ability to fight off infectious diseases

I am Marjorie Haddock I was born on August 15th in Coryell County, TX. I was an only child. Growing up I enjoyed play-ing the piano and working on the farm. I attended college in Dallas, TX and earned my degree in Accounting. I met my husband in college, we have three children. In my adulthood I enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, and playing the piano. I worked as a credit manager for Sears Roebuck and many other accounting jobs after that. I retried in 1966 and enjoyed volunteering with girl scouts, boy scouts, and Sunday school at my church. I currently enjoy relaxing and taking care of my plants.
