GREEN SHACK PLAYGROUND PROGRAMS
Green Shack Playground ProgramsExperience a great summer in your own neighbourhood by dropping by one of the exciting Green Shack Playground Programs!Children aged six to twelve are welcome to join in games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events. Children under the age of six are welcome as well but must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
The Green Shack Playground Program is free to participants.
You’ll find a list of upcoming activities and special events posted on the side of the Green Shack each week. If there’s a game or activity that you’d like to play, just ask the Program Leader. They are there to make your summer a fun one!
Programs are led by staff who:
• Ensure participants play safely; parents are responsible for their children at all times and must be available in the event of an emergency
• Are easily identifiable by their blue shirts and name tags
• May be assisted by volunteer Leaders in Training
• Have completed a Security Clearance process, are trained in First Aid and are certified specialists in FUN!
Programming is still available on rainy days but will be cancelled during severely inclement weather.
Green Shack Playground Programs are offered during one of the following time slots, Monday to Friday:
• Morning Programs: 10 am – 1:30 pm
• Afternoon Programs: 2:30 pm – 6 pm
Please see the notice posted on the side of your neighbourhood Green Shack for more information

6 FLYING EAGLE AND POP UP PLAYGROUND LOCATION
SUMMER PROGRAM STAFFYou will see many different summer staff in your Community Programs this summer. Everyone plays a slightly different role so to help you understand who does what, our staff will be wearing different coloured shirts. Please feel free to stop by and chat with any of them. They are all happy to answer questions about your Community Summer Programs.
Supervisors (Red Shirts):Staff in Red Shirts are Program Supervisors. They are responsible for working with our staff to ensure that summer programs meet City of Edmonton standards. Each program is visited by their Supervisor at least once a week so it’s likely that you will see them talking with our staff regularly during the summer.
Children's Program Leaders (Blue Shirts):Staff in Blue Shirts lead Children’s Programs. You’ll see them leading games, crafts and other activities in Registered Camps, Green Shack Playground Programs and Water Play Sites.
Youth Program Leaders (Orange Shirts): Staff in Orange Shirts are Youth Program Leaders. You’ll find them at our Youth Drop-in Sites and Skateboard Parks.
Flying EagleThe Flying Eagle Program is offered at a number of Green Shack Playground programs across Edmonton. Flying Eagle gives Green Shack participants an opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal teachings and traditions. A variety of activities are offered, from making dream catchers to beading to lacrosse. To find the Flying Eagle program that’s closest to your neighbourhood, please visit www.edmonton.ca/flyingeagle
