PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Celebrating National Science Week we have seen an interesting range of events and Science activities for students and parents at both campuses. I have been very impressed by the level of engagement of all the students as I have walked around the school. The ‘Animals on the Move’, in a safe and controlled environment enabled students to get up close and interact with friendly farmyard personalities! Students were able to interact, pat and get to know a diverse range of farmyard animals, including a calf, lambs, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, piglet, rooster, chooks, chickens, duck, goose and turkey. The team at Hands on Science brought a ‘Weird Science Show’ incursion to the school. This involved a range of hands on sensory science experiments encouraging the students’ natural curiosity about the world with Hands on Science’s fun and educational science. Science experiment kits were set up for classroom teachers to borrow and use with their students. Open classroom afternoon provided an opportunity for parents/families to visit their child’s classroom. I hope you enjoyed this time sharing learning in the classroom with your child. Thank you to the leading teachers for assisting with the organisation of this week. Our next special week will be Health and Nutrition week in term 4. During this week we will again enjoy attending our annual sports day held off campus.
